Recorded live in studio for The Voice's Livenä Vieraissa (Live Covers) sessions. This is our tribute to Chris Cornell's brilliant original.

At the time I bought the Bongo (several years ago now), I paid about $1400 for it new at retail (Guitar Center). At the time, I was actually headed into the store to buy a Warwick thumb bass, but I bought the Bongo after comparing the two for a while. I had never heard of the Bongo before, but I could immediately tell it was a high-quality bass and I loved the crazy looks of it, so I bought it.

I love the covers, man! That, and your band's musical taste is outstanding. :) Nearly all of your cover choices are among my favorite songs. Keep rockin'!

If you're learning how to play bass, you may find my bass FAQ on my personal web site helpful. You should be a able to find the link on my profile page. (YouTube won't let me put a URL in this comment).

A lot of folks have asked me for tab (or instructional videos) for some of the songs I've figured out how to play. I haven't had time to do this yet, but one of these days I will tab some stuff out and/or post some tutorial videos.

Les Claypool was the only specific bassist who inspired me to start playing bass, but the usage of slap bass in various rock and funk music was also a big influence for me.

who was the bassist that ultimately inspired you to start playing yourself, and how did you get started?

I know you probably get a lot of requests for this kind of stuff, but could you possibly do a small walkthrough for the Jerry Was A Racecar Driver bassline? I've got a 5 string double humbucker bongo as well, and I've been DYING to play this song, but I don't know how to play it without a 6th string...

I don't know about Is It Luck. Les said he popped while holding the whammy bar on that one.
