http://www.bkwine.com/wine_tours/wine... --- Part 1 of the interview with Piero Lanza, co-owner (together with his sister) and winemaker at Fattoria Poggerino, a classic and biodynamic winery and farm. Poggerino is a winery located in Radda in Chianti in Italy, at the heart of the Tuscan wine region. Its a small vineyard and winery, 43 hectares with 11 hectares of vineyards with mainly sangiovese.
They make a rose wine, primary purpose it to increase the quality of the red wine. The base red is called Il Labirinto made from sangiovese from young vines. Then they make a Chianti Classico Poggerino, aged for 12 months in French oak barrels a classic Tuscan wine with original character. Next is a Chianti Classico Riserva Bugialla, which is the name of a small vineyard plot with old wines. They also have an IGT (Indicazione Geografica Tipica) which is called Primamateria, which is more in a New World style (albeit Italian). The Chianti Classico is made from sangiovese. They also have some merlot planted which they mainly use for their super Tuscany. Some of the wines are aged in French oak barrels, barriques, but they dont want to get too much oak character. The ideal is to make wine with unique regional and terroir character. A genuine Chianti / Tuscany / Italian wine producer.
Dont miss part 2 where Piero Lanza talks about organic and biodynamic farming.

http://www.bkwine.com/wine_tours/wine... --- Interview with Jarkko Peranen winemaker at Cantina Candialle. He owns the winery together with Josephin Cramer. Jarkko comes originally from Finland and Josephin from Germany. They have been running the Candialle vineyard since the early 2000s.
The vineyard is located in Tuscany in the heart of the Chianti Classico region, near the Panzano village. The vineyard covers six hectares of vines, primarily sangiovese, but also some merlot, syrah and petit verdot. Jarkko Peränen makes three wines: one wine based on Merlot called Ciclope, Cyclops, the one-eyed. It is a blend including some sangiovese and syrah. A very fresh fruity, easy drinking wine. They also have one IGT wine called Pli, which is their top quality cru wine, and a Chianti Classico Candialle.

http://www.bkwine.com/wine_tours/wine... --- Sandrine Garbay, cellar master and winemaker at Chateau d Yquem, comments on how a Chateau d'Yquem change in taste as it ages.
She starts from young vintages just after bottling and talks about how the taste evolves to more complex flavours with age, all while we are tasting the 1998 vintage. When young the wine is very much on the fruit and exotic aromas. With age it evolves more to dried fruit and marmalade. Even older it turns towards coffee, caramel, toast, roasted aromas... Enjoy!
Also some peeks on the vintages 1989, 1982, 1967, 1945, 1937, 1929, 1921, 1893. . . One can always dream!
Chateau d'Yquem is located in Sauternes in Bordeaux and is one of the worlds most expensive sweet white wines, in fact simply one of the worlds most exclusive wines over all. Yquem is the biggest property in all of Sauternes having 100 hectares. The size adds complexity and depth to the wine.
Dont miss the first video on Chateau dYquem where Sandrine Garbay talks about the chateau, her own background, the estate and about how to match and pair sauternes, and Yquem in particular, with food.
