Sr. Chavez has always been one of my greatest inspirations, as much for his ethical vegetarianism as for his advocacy for the rights of Indigenous people and all of the strong workers whose blood, sweat and toil put the food on all our tables.

"When a man or woman, young, or old, takes a place on the picket line for even a day or two, he will never be the same again. He has confirmed his own humanity. Through non-violence, he has confirmed the humanity of others."

Thank you for allowing me to post some of my videos as responses to your videos. As I mention on a few of my videos, my stepfather was Mexican-American and during my early childhood we lived at Colegio Cesar Chavez. My stepfather, Arthur Olivo, worked for the Colegio, as well as for Center for Employment Training ("CET") in San Jose and at the short-lived CET branch in Tigard, Oregon. I remember the United Farm Workers eagle from my early childhood. That eagle was everywhere at Colegio Cesar Chavez.

Sincerely,

Andrew

My dad and his family marched con Cesar Chavez on more than one occasion. My grandfather passed away years ago, but he had one of he original banderas, that my uncle now has.

My dads family had a home for decades in south side Modesto, California, and now my dad lives here in Idaho. He was a farmworker the majority of his life, and takes much pride.

Whoever has this channel, I would appreciate it if you could find some video of the original marches, or even slide shows from those original days. That would be nice to see. Thats whats missing on youtube, I search for original footage, and I find some, but its blended in with like the walkouts from a couple of years ago. For me, those causes arent even the same, and shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence...but anyway thats for another rant

Thanks.

This is video is when I was with the UFW last year. The march was in Los Angeles and the Rolas help the video bring back memories of the days our compañero Cesar was with us.
