In 1977 a low budget action film written by screen writer Paul Schrader ("Taxi Driver", "American Gigolo", & "Hardcore"), was released starring William DeVane and a fairly unknown actor named Tommy Lee Jones. The "Death Wish" style actioner developed a cult following and is a favorite of film director Quentin Tarantino's. The theme song "SAn Anton" was performed by singer Denny Brooks and is quite rare. The song from the film is included here in its entirety, along with some stills from the movie. I hope you enjoy this tribute.

Way back in spring of 1979 Susan Anton had her own 4 week variety series "Presenting Susan Anton". In this clip from the 3rd episode of the series, Johnny Mathis and Susan perform a series of classic Johnny Mathis hits. Included in the duet is the Oscar nominated song "The Last Time I Felt Like This" from the Alan Alda/Ellen Burstyn film from 1978 "Same Time, Next Year. Also included "Love Story", Misty", Wonderful, Wonderful, Chances Are", and several others. The duet is fantastic and this clip is so rare, I have not seeen it in over 30 years. Mathis sang duets with many singers over the years including Jane Oliver, Dionne Warwick, Patti Austin, Deneice Williams,Natalie Cole, Gladys Knight, Lorrie Morgan, and even Lena Horne-but I have to say, I love him and Suan together-I hope you will too.The variety series was in the Donny and Marie Osmond vein that was popular at the time. She really proved to be a versatile singer, actress and dancer here. Following in the summer of 1979, Anton went on to the thatrical film "Goldengirl", then slowly faded away and is now pretty big in nightclubs, and shows in Vegas. She never really reached the stardom that she deserved, but continues to perform to the delight of her fans. I hope you enjoy this trip down memory lane.

Way back in spring of 1979 Susan Anton had her own 4 week variety series "Presenting Susan Anton". Here is a clip from what Susan called 'her favorite part of the show". In this clip from her third episode, both her mom and dad are interviewed. After a brief talk with her mom and dad, we are treated to Susan's performance of a little known Barry Manilow song "I Am Your Child" in which she sings right to her mom in the audience. Her mom is still alive, but her dad has since passed away. This is one of the rarerest of the rare. The variety series was in the Donny and Marie Osmond vein that was popular at the time. She really proved to be a versatile singer, actress and dancer here.
