About Me:

Established the oldest site dedicated to British Athletics on the Web.

Hertfordshire County Summer Team Manager for Senior Men, Under 20 Men and Under 17 Men.

Am active in seeking to ensure that athletics administration be separated from coaching and development. The fact that UK Athletics dishes out money, and selects teams for championships compromises the bedrock of fairness that underpins athletics.

I have written a paper on how I believe athletics must be organised so as to ensure fairness, and transparency in both selection of athletes, and the funding of those favoured athletes.

The paper is available at:
www.british-athletics.co.uk/fo ster/altern.pdf
(If the word foster has a gap between the o and the s the gap must be closed)

UK Sport and Sport England have polluted athletics since 1997, and this must stop.

I hope to finish logging the Senior/Under 20 South of England 2009 Championships (Watford in 20th/21st June 2009). I will then add the events filmed to the voting page on the web site.

It is worth saying here that the voting criteria does allow for those less popular events to win. For example, the current criteria is that the first vote received after 6pm this Saturday 10th of October will win.

If you can't be bothered to Vote, then do what a Hillingdon athlete did, and simply join the web site (by joining your club in the directory of clubs), and send me a message asking that your event be uploaded.

If your club is not listed in the Directory of Clubs, then add it yourself. All you need to do is include training times and venue's so new members can find your club, and a link to your club's official web site.

The following champs were covered:

Southern U15/U17 Champs in Ashford
Southern U20/Senior Champs in Watford
AAA's U20/U23 Champs in Bedford
AAA's U15/U17 Champs in Bedford (Day 1 only)

A new voting system has been added to the Search Athletic Films page of the website. I will only be uploading films voted on in future.

Please register with my website british-athletics dot co dot uk.

This web site is intended to support the clubs and the counties, so to register with the web site, you must find your club in the directory, and join the club. The system will then generate a password for you. You can log in and send the System Administrator a message. (That is me). In order to encourage a bit of give and take, I am reserving all my energy and favours for people who contact me via the web site. I have on many occasions sent films to athletes on DVD, but I will only do this via the web site in future.

DelMac, Thanks your kind comments. The problem is their are not enough hours in the day to make all the films, so I am experimenting with a system of logging all the footage, and allowing users to vote on the web site for the next film to be made and uploaded.

If this works out I am hopeful about uploading to demand, by September/October. I will also be adding a mailling list to the web site allowing users to be informed when new films are uploaded.

I can't put the web address in this comment field, but the web site is british dash athletics dot co dot uk.

I had the opportunity of speaking with you at the U23/U20 trials in Bedford; Also, I watched you record the SEAA championships held in Watford, I really admire your work and I urge you to continue advocating for a transparent and fairer funding system for athletes. When will you make your recent recordings available on the net?
