BTW
This is a test site. I don't do request. Answer question. Or help if the software that I use don't work on your computer etc. Just download the entire ballet video that you like and upload to your site.
------------------------------
Most of video on this site are already on Youtube. I want to experiment with the new Youtube quality improvement and the correct encoder software setting. There is a huge quality improvement from Youtube in mid-2009(fmt=34). But you won't benefit to the full if the wrong software and setting is used.
------------------------------
The upload recommendation spec have change again :-) (December 2009)
Quality vs file size
1)'Constant quality setting' may create bigger file size than the alternative fix variable bit-rate setting (example 1 Mbit)
Video noise, complex screen movement etc increase the file size in constant quality mode.
Constant quality = No compression artifact guaranteed :-)
2) Reduce the file size by using smaller video resolution.
Higher resolution is NOT the same as higher quality video.
Upload in minimum Youtube resolution 640x360 or 480x360
The encoding time and upload time is also decreased :-)
------------------------------
As a video quality test site, the purpose is no compression artifact 'blocks pixels' etc.
In the past I have upscale to HD fmt=22 to by-pass the fmt=18 (ipod) HQ video mode.
In mid-2009 fmt=34 video mode is introduce. Up-scaling to HD is no longer needed.
From mid-2009 upload in HQ resolution fmt=35(HQ).
There was still a issue about the optimum bit-rate.
If too low I get 'compression artifact', but if too high my file size is 'too big' and longer encoding/upload time.
This is now fix with the the constant quality encoder setting (December 2009)
------------------------------
Step 1 is always backup/copy the DVD as 'iso' file to the harddisk with DVDdecrypter.
Menu step:
Menu:'Mode' - 'Iso' - 'Read'
Menu:'File' - 'Decrypt'
The DVD will be copied to the hard-disk as iso file.
http://www.dvddecrypter.org...
Step 2:
This backup file can then be opened with HandBrake for encoding process to AVC video codec (H.264)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...
Menu:source - video file
Select the '.iso' file just created.

With these setting you will get good quality youtube video.

slow internet/computer? Or video jitter problem? Download the entire 'BalletForYou' youtube site for offline view with http://ytdl.ferdinandus.org/
Select the iPod mp4 files for smalest downloads size
Use VLC media player to watch it.
You can create playlist in VLC

Video jitter issue in the older upload(before july). In ballet video it is difficult to ignore the problem.
The issue is that Youtube cannot correct re-encode a audio with 48kHz sample rate. So now I use 44.1Khz. and jitter problem is solved.
Some encoder program like autogk the sample rate is fix at 48Khz.

Example jitter problem:
Coppelia (1 of 8) paris balet school.
at 1:50 the curtain goes up with jitter.
You can also see it at the ballerina movement.
There are many other example, especially when the camera move horizontally.
Do not use the scrolling end credit as reference because the original source is also with jitter.
The jitter issue only manifest in the 'new' youtube resolution
854x480(fmt=35), 640x360(fmt=34) But not in older format (fmt=18/iPod)
480x360, 480x270
