Hello, and welcome! My name is Sam Barros and this is the official YouTube PowerLabs Channel, showcasing some of the newest and best videos from some of the various experiments and research I have worked on in different fields of science and technology. About Me:

Ever since I was really small I knew I would be a scientist. My mother tells me that when I was 3 years old I stuck a hair pin in an outlet to see what would happen: the hair pin blew up, the outlet and surrounding wall went black, and power for the whole appartment complex went out. My experiments have definitely become a lot more sophisticated since then, but the basic idea remains: I like to learn how things are made, how they work, and, most importantly, how to make them better. That is why I decided to pursue a college degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Tecnological University. My passion for science has earned me sponsorships (I built an electromagnetic Rail Gun thanks to a very generous donation from a capacitor company) and some very interesting jobs and work assignments: I have worked in a Nuclear Power Plant, and worked on special effects in Hollywood, New York, and India. I was also on the TV show Junkyard Wars (Spiller Thriller episode), I created one of the stunts for Fear Factor, and I've presented on Microwave Ovens in MTV's "Big Urban Myth Show" and a similar, Mythbusters like show called "What is good for you" in Australia. I've also been on Discovery Channel twice and will be again, two more times, on an upcoming show that airs this December. I currently work for kVA effecs, the premier high voltage special effects company, and routinely travel to different places to sell, service, and install high voltage equipment. When I'm not working on the sales and installation end of things, I perform research, creating new and exciting products I also enjoydriving competitively (at race tracks and events).
