My first encounter with Uriah Hall involved the middleweight stubbing his toe on my shoe as he walked to the locker room. This was not my fault, although I will raise my hand and take the blame. When he stubbed his toe, Uriah flashed a scary look in my direction and growled 'you better watch out' to which I replied, 'I will never hurt you more than I just did right there.' Uriah burst out laughing, I smiled, and the thoughts of having to escape the gym with my face-bones intact became a little less of a pressing reality.

Uriah Hall is a ridiculously nice human-being. Borderline jolly. In my opinion, no one who is this nice should be able to do damage with his bare hands like he does, but it's this juxtaposition of his bubbly personality and his skills in the cage that make for a fascinating interview.

A week after his loss to Kelvin Gustalem in the TUF 17 finale, we sat down with Uriah to discuss that fight, why no one is giving Kelvin any props, if TUF finale fights should be five rounds, and a host of other subjects (including the ridiculous notion that he threw the fight).

It's a good one.

It's also important to note that the judge that scored the fight in favor of Gilbert Melendez owns an affiliate Cesar Gracie gym in California -- and people assumed his impartiality was non-existent during the main event of UFC on FOX 7. Basically what we're trying to say is due to the nature of 4/20, a lot of assumptions were made last weekend and ingested as absolute fact -- including the exact rounds Gilbert Melendez won over Ben Henderson.

Some of you scored it 1,2,5 for Gil -- which are the exact rounds people claimed Nick Diaz won over Carlos Condit back in UFC 143. Dana White has another theory regarding who won the rounds in the main event at UFC on FOX 7, and you probably will want to hear it.

Alright, the extremely condensed version of the story goes something like this: Bigfoot Silva is training at the Blackzilians, then Overeem comes to Miami and joins the team. Awkward glances are exchanged and Overeem squints at Bigfoot, Bigfoot stares back and then does the upwards chin nod thing. Portuguese is spoken and like that *poof* Bigfoot has moved his locker to Boca Raton. Bigfoot believes it is their destiny for the two gigantic men to fight. Alistair scoffs. Through 2012, Overeem gets suspended for the year after failing a random drug test, Bigfoot goes 1-1 in the UFC and both men find themselves on a collision course - 80's action movie style. Bigfoot's right, because they get booked. Maybe it is destiny?

Talk back and forth regarding respect, business, and terrible violence starts ramping up as UFC 156 gets closer. Bigfoot is still looking for 'hespect,' Overeem squints again and tells him at the UFC 156 media stare down that he's going to 'f***ing destroy' him.

Right now though, the second round of the original left side of the bracket of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix is about to go down, and Overeem is not pleased that Bigfoot got in his face. I think he said something along the lines of 'I'm going to ****ing destroy you,' but that could be the Whopper™ talking. I'm not sure.

Man, I've almost completely ignored the classy staredown by Rashad Evans and Noguiera (Rashad is swagger-jacking himself) and the fairly intense featherweight title fight staredown. Geez, that's how stacked this card is.

I just ate a jar full of cherries before I realized that I could have made a cherry pie. Damn, my friends would have been impressed if I baked a cherry pie with those things. Thankfully, my friends have pretty low expectations so they'll just be impressed that I ate an entire jar full of cherries. As of right now, it's the greatest accomplishment that I can personally take claim to today. Granted, it's nothing like LayzieTheSavage getting a one-on-one interview with UFC boss Dana White today in Los Angeles.

Sure I'm still proud with my ability to eat an entire jar of cherries, but I'm even more impressed that Dana White actually answered all the questions we threw at him just a few hours ago. Unfortunately, we didn't get your Justin Bieber one in there. Sorry, folks. Maybe next time.

When I started watching the footage LayzieTheSavage caught of his post UFC 155 ride with the new heavyweight champion Cain Velazquez, I immediately heard the beat to Coolio's 'Fantastic Voyage' playing like background riding music in my brain. It's a fitting chill smooth relaxed beat, just like Velasquez appears to be everytime he's caught on camera. Unfortunately, we are living in this current consciousness, the one where Phil Davis is fighting no one tonight at 155, and neither is Forrest or Vinny. We live in the worst possible dimension for this UFC 155 scenario, which sucks, but at least we have an increasingly interesting storyline developing between Vinny and Phil, which sounds like the title to a sitcom.

The story basically goes like this: Forrest gets injured, Phil wants a fight, Vinny wasn't comfortable cutting down to 205 on such short notice, so he asks Phil to meet him at UFC 157 at the end of February. Phil has family plans, so he wants April, maybe. Both light heavyweights claim one is ducking the other, but what they don't realize is when both fighters duck at the same time, they both end up right in front of each other squatting. So now here we are, with this video interview by LayzieTheSavage in which Vinny Magalhaes continues to call out Phil Davis and claims Phil knows Vinny can submit him whenever Vinny feels like it, so Phil is the one ducking the fight. We think. There are so many claims of ducking here I'm expecting someone to yell out 'Goose!' then tap me on the head and run away.

Last week, UFC fans around the country may have been caught of guard by the Bellator advertisements during the TUF finales. It looks as though FOX did a poor job of defending itself intelligently at all times, and the end result was a catchy jingle equipped advertisement for the UFC's biggest competitor. As MMA fans, we don't care as long as it means more ask-kicking contest on free TV, but from a business standpoint, it certainly looked like a bold move by Bellator's parent company, Viacom. We're not sure if Bellator will ever surpass the UFC's popularity however they spend their marketing budget, but we're glad that Dana White took the time to break this all down for us. Turns out, if he ran Bellator, he'd do the same thing. He also says that he'd make the Bellator look as much like the UFC as possible.

I wasn't able to view a single episode of The Ultimate Fighter season 16. The last time I saw Mike Ricci fight, I was cageside at Bellator when he lost to Pat Curran. With that honesty aside, it seemed like these two deserved to be in the TUF finals, and Colton Smith took his chance in the spotlight and dominated Mike Ricci for almost fifteen minutes straight. We're sure Mike Ricci will be back, and much improved. How could you not be in a camp like Tristar? But tonight was Colton's night, and he proved that with smothering grappling that nearly finished Ricci multiple times. Aside from a Hail Mary armbar attempt with thrity seconds left, Ricci did very little.

And go to battle he did this past weekend at UFC on FOX 5 against Marcus LeVesseur when he dished out a two round beating that ended in a second round TKO via unrelentingly repeated knees to the body.
