Sewing Lessons: Arm & Leg Warmer for Baby/Toddler
by TheCraftyGemini 46,231 views
In this sewing tutorial I show you how to save yourself some money and make your own arm & leg warmers for a baby or toddler! These warmers can cost upwards of $12 in the store or from an online retailer. Using a pair of crew socks I bought at the dollar store I show you how to make your own! This is a great beginner project and requires only a few materials: a pair of socks, scissors, a sewing machine/thread.
When used as leg warmers they make for very easy diaper changes. Once you make a pair you will want to sew more of these for friends! They make for cute baby shower gifts too. Go find a cute or funky pair of socks and make one yourself! -

Sewing Lessons: How to make Cloth Wipes- 2 techniques
by TheCraftyGemini 60,152 views
In this sewing video tutorial I show you how to make cloth wipes. I focus on 2 different sewing techniques- 1) using a serger, 2) using a regular home sewing machine, using the stitch, turn, and topstitch method.
These cloth wipes are made using 2 cotton flannel squares that measure 9" square and are great for wiping babies' bottoms, mouths, hands, faces, etc. I make them out of 2 layers of cotton flannel so that they are more absorbent and protect my hand from diaper messes. These cloth wipes can be used for anything you want and are great to keep stashed away in your purse or car glove compartment. -

Cloth diapers on a budget
by TheCraftyGemini 38,220 views
In this episode I go over some cloth diapering basics, what fabrics I have used and like to use for my diapers and for stuffing the pocket diapers, and also what kinds of closures I use on my baby's cloth diapers.
I go over fitted diapers and fleece pocket diapers (a.k.a- AI2s), TouchTape, Aplix, and snaps. I discuss why I like using pocket diapers and what I use to stuff them. I teach you how to make some absorbent soakers for your pocket diapers made out of a cotton sweatshirt---- I make 7 double-layered soakers for only $0.50. I go over microfiber towels used as soakers and where I purchased mine for a very low price.
Please note that I do NOT claim to be any cloth diapering authority at all. I simply wanted to share a little bit of my experience because when I was doing research on cloth diapers it was very overwhelming. I hope this episode helps you get a little start on doing the research so that you will consider cloth diapering your baby! We love our cloth diapers and they have saved us a TON of money! -

How to make a Fabric Basket/Bowl
by TheCraftyGemini 249,350 views
In this tutorial I show you how to make a fabric basket/bowl using strips of fabric and cording/clothesline/filler cord. This is a simple project that is great to make when using up old clothes or fabric scraps.
Be sure to put in a new needle in your machine before trying to sew through the cording. If you break a needle or your machine jams up DO NOT CONTINUE. I would only suggest this project if you are confident you have a machine that can handle the bulk. Do not attempt with really small, mini, or battery operated sewing machines.
