Cold Showers - So I Can Grow (Room 205)

    by goincase 12,890 views

In their first Room 205 installment, the aptly named Cold Showers deliver an icy hot, uptempo performance of "So I Can Grow" from their forthcoming debut album.

For this supremely entertaining episode of Room 205 director Michael Reich and set designer Tamarra Younis worked with director of photography Jeffrey Peters and editor Forrest Borie to create an arresting video triptych of a Victorian rose garden, brutalist architecture and negative white space. From finery to form to finality...this might be one of the finest episodes we've collaborated on yet.

    BIO
Jonathan Weinberg, Jessie Clavin, Brian Davila and Renee Adams formed Cold Showers in late summer 2010, (with recent addition of Chris King supporting on guitar). Their pop songs are shaded by darker overtones, offering despairing minimalist lyrics that bring a sense of a bleaker tomorrow, today. The dreamy, angular and sometimes aggressive guitar work, layered with primitive percussion and low flying synthesizers coalesce in a driving darkwave sound. Satisfying influences from Ultravox and Savage Republic to Joy Division, The Pixies and Los Angeles-era X, Cold Showers create the ideal soundtrack to fall in-and-out of love.

Cold Showers - BC (at Room 205)

From the opening note, we descend into the dark world of
Cold Showers vividly re-imagined by director Michael Reich and editor
Forrest Borie as the frenetic inner workings of a creepy copy machine.

    Cold Showers - I Don't Mind (at Room 205)

Cold Showers delivers a mind-scrapingly loud final performance of "I Don't Mind" for your viewing pleasure.
