2. HI-TECH2Simulator Tour with Stephen Polk
by seamenschurch 131 views
Take a tour of one of SCI's state-of-the-art simulators.
The computer simulators at SCI's Center for Maritime Education—located in Paducah, Kentucky and in Houston, Texas—rank top in the world. They challenge mariners' reactions and skills using realistic, three-dimensional simulations. Mariners can interact with each other on virtual waterways while instructors throw curveballs to test reactions in crisis situations. Inside the simulator things heat up pretty quickly; but in the debriefing afterwards, instructors and mariners coolly examine these experiences together, translating them into real-world applications for safer waterways. -
