Cat Island is the first episode of TofuguTV! In this episode, we go to "Cat Island" (Tashirojima) Japan, a small island with less than 100 (very elderly) people, and hundreds (possibly thousands) of cats. I know it's been a while since Cat Island Part 1 came out, and you're all so patiently waiting for Part 2 (soon, I promise!!), so I thought I'd put together a TofuguTV quicky in the meantime... also happens to be about the favorite food of cats...
At ざうお (Zauo), a super-fun restaurant, you catch your own fish (and then tell them how you want it prepared). You're surrounded by aquariums (and possibly sitting on a giant indoor boat) and they give you some bait and fishing poles. From there, you bait the hook and go fishing. The fish are totally dumb and love being caught, which makes it awesome.
This place is a bit gimmicky, sure, but it's also one of the funnest restaurants I've been to. Totally worth checking out, I think!

I went to Naoshima (Art Island) to film for TofuguTV. I stayed at the "Oyaji no Umi Guest House." The owner (the one driving) took me and the other person staying there to see an art installation in the middle of the island (A giant garbage bin full of artistic garbage). The dog, Yopopo, enjoyed the ride more than anyone. He should put on a seat belt.

This is one of the coolest Capsule Hotels (in the world?) - it's super sleek, sexy, and an all around awesome experience. If you're in Kyoto, I'd recommend giving it a try for a night (or for a few hours, whatevah).

(spoilers, don't keep reading ify ou haven't seen part 1!)
Cat Island Part 2 is the continuation of Cat Island Part 1 (duh). The second part is where myself and Shinnosuke run into some actual cats. Before, we were flabbergasted by the lack of cats on Cat Island. Really, though, we were just on the wrong side of the island. In part 2, we're on the right side of the island, and have more cats than we will ever need.
We talk to more people in this half, see Manga Island (lodging where you can stay in cat shaped buildings made by Shotaro Ishinomori), and hung out with cats. It was a lot of fun and we really enjoyed our stay. I hope you go to Cat Island some day too!

Yoro Park is in Gifu Prefecture, Japan. It opened in 1995 and was created to be an "experience park" with the theme of "experiencing the unexpected." I went here with a High School friend, Hiroyuki. He took me to some interesting places around Nagoya, but they weren't quite interesting enough (at least not for TofuguTV, yo). So, we went to Yoro Park, to go experience the unexpected. Enjoy!
Brave Chandeliers = Awesome Band that's letting us use some of their music for TofuguTV episodes. They have other awesome music too (seriously one of my favorite bands!). Go check them out and listen to their music!

During this episode of TofuguTV, I meet a profession baseball player, play with some munchkin cats, hang out with a pervy old dude, and see a lot of art. Naoshima is an island in Japan that's covered in art. While I'm not a particularly cultured person, I did enjoy this island very much. -
