H.M.S. Pinafore - a musical by W.S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan
April 12-14 & 19-21
7:30 p.m. Fridays & Saturdays | 2 p.m. Sundays
Facebook Event: https://www.facebook.com/events/350041175112829/
H.M.S. Pinafore, Gilbert and Sullivan's other topsy-turvy comedy on the high seas is an audience favorite around the world. Pinafore takes a satirical jab at the importance of importance. Ralph and Josephine are madly in love. However, Ralph is a lowly sailor, and Josephine the Captain's daughter. To complicate things further, Josephine is pursued by the ruler of the Queen's Navy, Sir Joseph. Only love (and a few rousing, musical showstoppers) can save the day. This brightly orchestrated gem will give the British Tar in all of us a reason to sing.

Much Ado About Nothing @ GCU

"America loves nothing better than a good, classic Western!" - Much Ado About Nothing is the first theatrical production of the 2012-2013 school year at Grand Canyon University. For tickets and schedules: http://www.gcu.edu/Arts
"Some Cupid kills with arrows, some with traps." In William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, the Bard does it again with a comedy for all ages. The men are finally home from war, and what is there to do but fall in love? If only it were that easy. Don John, 'a plain dealing villain', plots to undo the love of Hero and Claudio, while Beatrice and Benedick engage in a no-holds barred battle of wits. Can a slow-talking sheriff sort things out before this comedy ends in tragedy?
Gossip, rumor, and mistaken identity pulse at the heart of this fresh take on Shakespeare's endearing classic. Set in a wild west Wickenburg, AZ the Grand Canyon University Theater Department is proud to present Much Ado About Nothing!

Learning Shakespeare @ GCU
by Grand Canyon University 445 views
Grand Canyon University and Ethington Theater are proud to present A Midsummer Nights Dream.
"The course of true love never did run smooth." Never was this truer than in William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Follow the hilarious angst of teen love out of Athens and into the forest as four more of Shakespeare's star-crossed lovers try to find a safe place to love who and how they please. Add into the mix a fractured fairy kingdom and a group of construction workers turned artists, and you have one of Shakespeare's best loved plays. Written soon after Romeo and Juliet, the Bard takes a shot at the blindness of love and hits a bull's eye.
