In addition, he bought himself 19,000 bot twitter followers and created a fake TED talk lecture, to spark-up his CV. His pledge is this: spend the rest of his life living off PR gift-bags and journalist treats, while boasting about it.

One week before my birthday this year, I was talking to someone at work about the time I took a shit ton of mushrooms in Amsterdam during New Year's and had a life-changing experience that has since made me a better person and far more focused in life. No less than 24 hours later, I was in a cab en route to perform stand up comedy with a head full of acid and a stomach full of puppies shitting themselves in horror.
I wasn't coerced, talked into, or persuaded to do something as nerve-racking as telling jokes to a room of strangers—paying customers, no less—for the first time ever while simultaneously tripping on powerful psychedelic drugs. I didn't really think through how terrible it could go at the time. I was stupid, not brave. I took out most of my anger on Jamie Lee Curtis Taete, about whom I remember saying things like "you're such a twat" and "I fucking hate you, prick."
It would be great if I could say that doing stand-up on acid was profound and moving. But I would be lying. I just thought it would be funny. Maybe it was. But it's also a dumb, fucking terrifying thing to do. So, please do enjoy this video, but please don't ever try anything like this yourself. It nearly cost me my sanity.

Cute Bunny Jumping Competition!

Bunny rabbits are adorable enough when they're just sitting there twitching their pink noses or lapping water up from their little bottles, but when they're hopping over brightly colored fences like tiny, long-eared horses while their super-enthusiastic trainers cheer from the sidelines, it makes you wonder why rabbit show jumping isn't on TV all the time. We recently spent the day at the Rabbit Grand National in Harrogate in Yorkshire, England, to witness this space-time-bending level of cuteness for ourselves. Show jumping tests bunnies' speed and agility as they race down the course, dreaming of winning the big trophy or at least of getting treats when they finish. We met a two-and-a-half-year-old bunny named Cherie. Her trainer, Magdelena, says Cherie's favorite things in the world are jumping, hay, and carrots (and probably fucking a whole bunch, if we know anything about rabbits). Cherie annihilated the competition, finishing the race in just 12.5 seconds! Way to go, Cherie!

The Ultimate Dessert Recipe: Popping Candy Pavlova

Ingredients:
6 x egg whites

whippy cream
food coloring
lots x sweeties
popping candy topping
Step 1: Whisk egg whites while gradually adding sugar till you get stiff peaks
Step 2: Add food coloring if you're fun
Step 3: Plop on a baking tray in a pavlova shape
Step 5: Leave to cool for another hour
Step 6: Dump on whippy cream and your sweeties

Baby Wombat Orphans!

You would never expect it, but these baby Wombats are some of the cutest animals alive!
We asked our associate editor Harry what he thought about wombats, and he said, "An ugly animal—like a bat but dumber." Then we showed him this video and he was paralyzed in an alternating laugh/awwww/laugh/awwww stupor for three whole minutes. Then we really fucked with his emotional bearings by telling him that this little munchkin, named Belle, is an orphan. Sadly, her mother was run over by a car, but when animal control arrived they checked her pouch and found Belle alive and well inside. (Unlike most marsupials, wombat patches open from the bottom, near their rumps, so that when they dig they don't sprinkle dirt all over their babies. Clever, eh?) After being rescued, Belle was taken to Healesville Sanctuary in Australia and currently lives there with her best mate, Phoenix, another orphaned wombat. When we visited, they simultaneously dove into a tunnel that was too small to fit both of them, so their little butts were wiggling around in our faces as they tried to push their way inside. It was hilarious!

Snow Leopard Cubs

There's nothing better than watching newborn animals curiously explore the world around them. How can your eyes not be glued to all the digging, pouncing, sniffing, falling, and those wide eyes that are too big for their heads. So you can only imagine what it was like when we made friends with a few baby snow leopards in Germany—they were like kittens on special steroids that multiply cuddleability by a factor of 10. The pudgy furballs love nothing more than to go on mini adventures in their playground at Magdeburg Zoo, and not even their mother was able to curb their curious mischievousness. We saw them nudge around a soccer ball, dip their huge, snowshoe-like paws into bowls of water, and tinkle on the clinic floor (somehow even that was cute). To top it off they are the official symbol of the Girl Scout Association of Kyrgyzstan. We bet they really like their cookies!

A bunch of dog lovers recently congregated at a convention center in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and groomed their pets to resemble everything except canines. We saw a dinosaur, that orange falcon thing from Harry Potter, Rainbow Brite, Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh, and even a hippie. Yes, it's a bit ridiculous, and participation in an event like this is a pit stop on the road to Loserville. But c'mon—it's pretty adorable. Our favorite was the dinosaur (aka poodle) named Koby. His owner told us how great the breed's hair is for this sort of competition because it sticks straight out, making it easy to sculpt. Turns out they were right! Koby was crowned the winner and went home with a cash prize, an enormous trophy, and eternal glory.

PERUVIAN HAIRLESS DOGS! | THE CUTE SHOW | VICE

Just like other breeds, hairless puppies look 100 percent adorable when they do anything: yawning, napping, scampering around, climbing on stuff, shoving their face into water bowls three sizes too big for them... pretty much anything besides pooping. There's even an extraspecial club, Chacla's Camp, in Lima, Peru, just for the naked pups. We recently visited and were instantly smitten with the young doggies when we saw the club's owner, Alfredo, lotionin' up his pups (they have dry, sensitive skin—because they're hairless, duh!) for a day of sunbathing. They're also known as Peruvian Inca Orchids, and their skin can be a variety of pleasant colors: elephant gray, copper, chocolate brown, mottled with pink spots... the combinations of cute are endless. And due to the sensitivity of their dark eyes, these baldies tend to squint in the sunlight. Imagine how darling they'd be wearing sunglasses and Croakies around their necks! -

Baby Sloth Sanctuary In Costa Rica: The Cute Show

As soon as I heard about the Aviarios Del Caribe sloth sanctuary in Costa Rica I knew it would be perfect for the Cute Show. It's the world's only sloth orphanage, home to over a hundred very sleepy urchins whose lives have been saved by legendary sloth whisperer Judy Arroyo.
Sloths are fantastically weird animals, the junkies of the jungle who seem to spend their lives either nodding off or scratching and occasionally eating a bean or two before drifting back to what looks like a blissful sleep.
The babies are especially helpless and comical and I fell in love with them immediately. So I cut a few choice clips together to show my old colleague VBS UK producer Vida Toombs and Cute Show creator Amy Kellner and posted the video on my Vimeo page. To my surprise the clip went viral and was watched by a million people in a week. Clearly I was not alone in thinking that these animals had super squee powers. So here is my Cute Show about the sloths, the perfect prelude to a sneaky daytime nap.
If you fall for these animals like I did then you can join the sanctuary's volunteer programme. Trainee sloth wranglers get to feed the sloths and help exercise and potty train the babies. The sanctuary runs on donations and voluntary help so you can do your bit by helping these vulnerable creatures whose jungle home is being slowly destroyed by pesticides, sold off to US real estate agencies and sliced up by roads and power lines.
