"There's a negative side and a positive side" to cancer, said Cam, 11, who has battled leukemia. His "Be Positive for CHaD Kids" campaign inspires children with cancer and helps support CHaD. "I looked at the negative side way too long, and I just said I've got to be positive."
Since 2006, the CHaD Hero Half Marathon has raised over $1 million to support programs and services at CHaD. With the 5K run/walk and 1-mile Cam's Course, people of all ages can participate.
"This is an incredible experience communally, that this many people have gotten together for a cause," Dempsey said. "That shows you the power of community."
Thank you to our partners at Jane's Trust, The Byrne Foundation and Norwich Partners' Children Fund of the Upper Valley. Their commitment to match the efforts of our young heroes has made this challenge grant possible.
