Nine Types of Light is as much an album as it is a movie by TV on the Radio. The movie is meant to be a visual re-imagining of the record, and includes a music video for every song on the album. The band personally asked their friends and the filmmakers they admired to help direct the music videos. Tunde Adebimpe, the director for the full Nine Types of Light movie, storybooked the music videos together with interviews from local New Yorkers on various topics, including dreams, love, fame and the future. Tunde also directed the music video for Forgotten. Nine Types of Light, both the album and the movie are set to release on April 12, 2011.
In the time off a lot of us made records, Martin made FOUR and they are all great. here's a highlight.
These guys started out by coming to every Antibalas--they even met us out in Vegas once! Note they've kicked our asses and drank us under the table.
Victor Rice understands the balance of the music, and has made amazing records with many of the Antibalas family.

FELA! is a new musical that is directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Bill T. Jones with a book by Jim Lewis, in which audiences are welcomed into the extravagant, decadent and rebellious world of Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti. Using his pioneering music (a blend of jazz, funk and African rhythm and harmonies), FELA! explores Kuti's controversial life as artist, political activist and revolutionary musician. Featuring many of Fela Kuti's most captivating songs and Bill T. Jones' imaginative staging, this new show is a provocative hybrid of concert, dance and musical theater.

Hard times in the summer time
All I wanna do is make a dime
Pay my bill and wash my car
Take my lady for some caviar
High life New York City
Come on big money
Show me who you are
I'm placing my bets
with all my cash
Come on big wheel
Let me get some back
I'm waiting at the table with my bet in my hand
I ain't got a job so I do what I can
Try to make so money got nothing to loose
Gotta bad case of the gamblers blues
Sufferin and lovin it pains no punishment
Smiling at the dice, the devil and the government
Chasing my bills from Uncle Sam
No big dilly deal you're the man
Hot flash now you know it's bad
Physical control by the money man
My palms are sweaty and my heart beats fast
All I wanna do is make it last
Heat wave lady luck is back
The tables getting hotter
let me feel your rack
One on the two and three on the four
I hit for a thousand and I wanna make more
The smell of the money the taste of a chance
I gotta get paid I gotta make rent
I gamble for the love and not for the flash
I know what to do but I don't forget
Money don't make the world go round
I only makes it easy to take you out from the bottom of the
Barrel where you started from
To the king of the mountain
When you think your done
Head case you can beat this race
Nothing comes easy don't lose your pace
Stay all night you've come this far
Show the big city that you are a star
Hopeless there is no way to choose
Nothing could be worse than the gambler's blues
Spending my day at an OTB
Second hand smoke is like vitamin C
