'Classic prides itself in being a family. Generally a lot of the music we've put out over the years tends to gravitate towards us either through friends, friends of friends, or odd situations. When that music has found its way to us through friends and people that are already part of the Classic family (in this case JT Donaldson) Derrick and myself always stand up and take notice even more as we know there is usually a story behind it. We are proud to welcome No Dial Tone as new members to the oddball family made up of miscreants and weirdoes that is Classic. A record I immediately fell in love with due to its quirky rhythms and repeating vocal. A record that seemed to have Classic written all over it. We drafted in two new rising stars to give their interpretations from the deep old school rhythms of Mic Newman, to the music led jazz tinged vibes of Tom Ellis.'

The much-anticipated Flo Jam EP from London duo Dusky gets its full release on Alex Arnouts Dogmatik label this July Dogmatik has been one of the UKs most consistent labels since its launch in 2006, headed by DJ/Producer Alex Arnout, the imprint has been behind music from the likes of Maya Jane Coles, Stojche and Floyd Lavine and gained broad critical acclaim. Now Dogmatik is set to have its biggest record to date with the awesome Flo Jam EP by Dusky. Dusky are London based musicians Alfie Granger-Howell and Nick Harriman, a pair who have been making a name for themselves with their broad minded approach to electronic music, drawing on everything from classical to jazz to techno for their unique compositions. Their releases to date through the excellent Anjuna Deep label have seen them gaining support from DJs such as Jamie Jones, Dubfire, Sasha & Laruent Garnier. Now the duo have put together a record that is set to become one of the big releases of this summer. The Flo Jam EP has already been receiving support from the likes of Pete Tong and is one of the most talked about singles around. The EP kicks off with title track Flo Jam, a classic old school house workout complete with anthemic stabs, high strings and some sultry vocal samples, its instantly clear why this is such a peak time record right now. Next up we have the chunky garage influenced house number Every Day that once again draws on the history of house to create a surefire winner. The penultimate cut Mystics journey into deeper, percussive territory with a brilliant bassline driven groove whilst closing opus Numerical takes tougher and techier approach, quality stuff. The Flo Jam EP is something you are certain to be hearing a lot more of in the summer months to come...

With the second release on Local Talks reissue sub label, 1nce Again we bring back one of our personal underground favourites from the golden age of house music (the early 90s). Back in 1994 Mateo & Matos released an EP on Black Label Records entitled Raw Elements, which included an amazing cut called "Maw Basics". Its one of those raw 90s house jams that got the house "bump" but without the "pump", its rough and funky but still deep if you know what we mean? No cheese in sight! Together with the original track (now fully re-mastered) we also asked Gerd (4lux, NY Stomp) to make a remix that would stay true to the original but still bring it to the next level. The result is absolutely amazing and we're pretty confident that this baby will deliver knock out punches every time it blasts through a proper sound system in a proper club.
Artist: Mateo & Matos
Title: Maw Basics (Gerd's NY STOMP Mix)

CHICAGO SUNRISE EP
Mark Henning is back! Back on Cityfox! A classic acapella and Mark's distinctive sound collide, resulting in a huge tune, sounding old school and fresh at the same time. Not just the vocals are telling a story here, the synths and bassline add their part to complete the track. The second original 'Trojan' is the secret weapon and club bomb, the dark side of the release, because too much sunshine is never healthy ... Afrilounge take it a step deeper in their mixes. The 'Back2Basic' mix features the dynamic they are famous for, the 'FM Dope Mix' (digital only!) and its big string melody sounds as clean as and sparkles like the sunrise itself. The '1998 Edit' incorperates the rhythms and vibes of classic House and Techno from the era when it all began. Thick, groovy basslines and pulsing pads laid out over infectious percussion make this track an instant classic.

Released last year on Anjunadeep, Dusky's brilliantly diverse "Stick By This" album put them on the map as one of the most exciting outfits around. Described as "a beautiful album - one of the albums of the year" by Pete Tong, the LP gained BBC Radio 1 support from Rob Da Bank, Toddla T and Tong himself, as well earning rave reviews in DJ Magazine and on Resident Advisor.
Having since further cemented their position on the deep house scene, with EPs like "Henry 85" on Will Saul's Simple and the huge "Flo Jam" EP on Dogmatik, Dusky's album now comes under fresh focus thanks to a series of remixes.
On the first of two special remix EPs, this house and deep techno focused collection takes in reworks from jozif (Crosstown Rebels/Culprit), Chicago's Tevo Howard and Berlin's Andre Crom (OFF Recordings).
Taking on the soulful "It's Not Enough" feat. Janai, the fast rising jozif delivers a slow-burning, bittersweet deep house groove full of musical depth and texture - available in both Voxatron and Dubatron form. A cult legend in underground circles, Chicago's Tevo Howard twists out a raw analogue and true school electro reshape of the lush deep house classic "Lost Highway".
Fresh from recent EPs on Freerange, Exploited and his own OFF Recordings label, Berlin's Andre Crom smooths out the classic "Lost In You" (feat. Janai) into a hypnotic twilight house groove. Rounding things off, fast-rising Polish producer Thomas Langner brings an infectious, clubby deep house groove to "Falling".
