On a sunny Friday afternoon at the end of April YoChicago's Joe Askins and Joe Zekas headed out for a look at four Near North construction projects: the SoNo II rental tower, Parkside of Old Town apartments, the demolition of the last Cabrini Green high-rise, and 1233 N Wells, our stop in this video.
Demolition is complete and soon caissons will be sunk 90 feet to bedrock. When complete, the site will host 38,000 square feet of retail space at ground level and 250 rental apartments.

In this video we're looking both at the Lincoln Park Conservatory and at a high-rise known as The Conservatory. The high-rise sat incomplete for a number of years until it was acquired, completed and successfully sold by real estate magnate Sam Zell, current proprietor of the Tribune Company.

The exteriors of Lexington Homes townhomes haven't varied as much in recent years as have the interiors. The floor plans and detailing are always a work in progress, based on feedback from home buyers.
Lexington revised a floor plan at Lexington Square in Bridgeport to expand the kitchen, open the staircase and increase overall open feeling of the living areas. I headed down to Bridgeport last week to have a look at the results.

The 220-unit Haberdasher Square Lofts was one of the early loft conversions in the near West Loop neighborhood in Chicago, and remains one of the few full-amenity loft conversions in the city.
In this part of our tour of Haberdasher Square Baird & Warner's Ted Guarnero gives us an overview of the building, its history, and the range of unit sizes and prices available in what remains one of the West Loop's and city's top-echelon lofts.
Ted Guarnero was part of the original sales team at Haberdasher when the building converted from a Hart Shaffner Marx clothing factory into luxury lofts in the early 90s. He's also the sponsor of this series of YoChicago videos of the property.

It was a beautiful day today. We rode an elevator to the penthouse level and climbed a steel ladder to the roof, where we shot this video. The railings were in the way, so we soon retreated to the balconies at the penthouse level.
Spend a few minutes with Todd Wendell, project manager, and Tricia Van Horn, marketing director.
Much more video coming soon.

I hadn't been in the Hancock Building for about 10 years, but I clearly recalled the grocery store on the 44th floor.
Prudential Rubloff's Francesca Rose, a Streeterville expert, introduced me to the new Potash Bros grocery, occupying far more space than the previous one, but retaining the incredible views.
I'm not certain that this is the world's highest grocery store, but I can't think of another that's 500 feet above the ground.

The exteriors of many homes in the historic DePaul / Sheffield neighborhood of Chicago give few clues as to what lies within.
Join Prudential Rubloff's Joanne Nemerovski for a tour of 2049 North Kenmore, which was recently listed for sale at just under $2 million.
The home was designed by architect Marcel Freides who was responsible for many unusually creative adaptations of 19th-century Chicago homes in Lincoln Park and the Gold Coast.
