Step Five: Open up the water bottle. OPEN! Put it on the ground and remove your boot band. Coffee is important, you asshole.
Step Six: Put water into the fucking thing like that. Close the bottle. CLOSE! Put the bottle back into the heater bag and the boot band is put around the fucking lid.
This thing will get hot quickly, so wear gloves if your pussy begins to itch.
Step Seven. Give it a fucking shake and press it up against a cool machine gun.
Step Eight: Adopt a firing position. Look for insurgents.
Step Nine: Nobody like Beef Macaroni Chinese Style. Get that shit out of there.
Step Ten: Undo the boot band and remove the water.
Step Eleven: Look for insurgents.
Step Twelve: Always remember to add the coffee before the cream. Light up a cigarette if you desire. Add coffee to water. Shout out what you are doing so your fire team partner knows the condition and ready state of the coffee.

Fun facts:
The last translation we put it through was "Esperanto", because apparently, only 10,000 people speak it.
No one has an official language of "Latin", but we had to assume a lot of people are still able to speak it. So that was a bit ambiguous.
Proper Nouns never really changed. Neither did numbers, as you can tell in the last stanza, "7,8".
We have no idea why we did this.

The first time I heard "Same Love," it brought tears to the eyes of a roomful of people, myself included. The song is about equality, specifically gay rights, with an unambiguous message: "It's human rights for everybody / There is no difference." Then, in a flip of a backing-track beat, Macklemore (a.k.a. Ben Haggerty) sings about wearing a velour jumpsuit and some house slippers, "grandpa style."

The contrast in these songs, "Same Love" and "Thrift Shop," makes the levity all that much memorable; as producer, Ryan Lewis is a master at the hook and clever with the melody. But this Tiny Desk Concert didn't end there: The live, sweet, soulful sounds of singer Ray Dalton belting, "Like the ceiling can't hold us" had Macklemore standing on my desk and shaking the dust off the ceiling tiles. The land in West Oakland where Eric Maundu is trying to farm is covered with freeways, roads, light rail and parking lots so there's not much arable land and the soil is contaminated. So Maundu doesn't use soil. Instead he's growing plants using fish and circulating water.
It's called aquaponics- a gardening system that combines hydroponics (water-based planting) and aquaculture (fish farming). It's been hailed as the future of farming: it uses less water (up to 90% less than traditional gardening), doesn't attract soil-based bugs and produces two types of produce (both plants and fish).
Aquaponics has become popular in recent years among urban gardeners and DIY tinkerers, but Maundu- who is trained in industrial robotics- has taken the agricultural craft one step further and made his gardens smart. Using sensors (to detect water level, pH and temperature), microprocessors (mostly the open-source Arduino microcontroller), relay cards, clouds and social media networks (Twitter and Facebook), Maundu has programmed his gardens to tweet when there's a problem (e.g. not enough water) or when there's news (e.g. an over-abundance of food to share).
Maundu himself ran from agriculture in his native Kenya- where he saw it as a struggle for land, water and resources. This changed when he realized he could farm without soil and with little water via aquaponics and that he could apply his robotics background to farming. Today he runs Kijani Grows ("Kijani" is Swahili for green), a small startup that designs and sells custom aquaponics systems for growing food and attempts to explore new frontiers of computer-controlled gardening. Maundu believes that by putting gardens online, especially in places like West Oakland (where his solar-powered gardens are totally off the grid), it's the only way to make sure that farming remains viable to the next generation of urban youth.

Seriously I don't hate cats, This video was the result of a legitimate ongoing problem we have had with cats in our area. Washing cat urine off our doors and cars was becoming an increasingly time consuming and frustrating part of our weekly routine. Not to mention the many nights lost sleep with cat fights, we have even had property damage.

Basically I thought "bugger it", why not turn our problem into entertainment, Everyone likes a funny cat video on youtube ;-)

This is a rap about a mean bee. The song was inspired by an actual bee who used to dive-bomb me while I sat outside and wrote raps at my old apartment in Central Square, Cambridge, Massachusetts. I'm not allergic to bees, or particularly scared of them normally, but this thing was so confrontational that I did actually feel compelled to run away from it in fear and hide in my hallway. This BEEf was going down in the summer of 2008; I looked up the average lifespan of bees on Wikipedia, and it's several months at best. But while the bee who was the subject of this song is definitely dead by now, I hope this video will make him immortal.

Now I live in Los Angeles, where I recorded this song at my friend Nice Peter's house/studio....Pete directed and edited the video, and he also animated the bee. The beat was produced by my DJ, Upryz, also known as Daniel Fox; you can see more of what he does at http://upryz.com.
