I wanted to know how China feeds Her 1.3 billion people...this leads to my interest in Chinese farming techniques. Chinese farmers are very aware of their limited land and water resources...so they developed many creative and sustainable methods to farm and harvest from their land and water resources.

Watching Chinese farmers, I feel a sense of wonder how Chinese farmers can produce food so abundantly without the kind of 'industrial cruelty' that are common in 'western' countries like U.S. and U.K....

Lastly, if China can feed Her 1.3 billion people, why so many people, especially children in the world (including in U.S.) go to bed hungry every night?...

I'm convinced that Chinese practical and natural farming methods can solve most of third world food shortage problems. Those techniques can be applied to small scale farming with small plot of land as well as large commercial farms with much less negative impact on the environment than western industrial farming methods or genetically modified crops which were designed to maximize profits for the corporations not to feed the poor.

Chinese farming techniques can lift hundreds of million of third world farmers out of poverty in similar ways as millions of Chinese farmers were lifted out of extreme poverty in China, in fact some of them have become very wealthy over time.
