Now it's very different from the Nazi approach. The Nazis decalred themselves the superior race. The Nazis claimed all beings that are not Aryan should be burnt or become slaves. Hard to believe it ever happened on the same damn planet we live in now. It sounds like some horror-post apocalyptic-science fiction movie.
The militant Americans from the other hand are wishing to defend themselves. Look, the Jews didn't went running into German resturants and blew themselves up shouting "Allah Akbar", now did they? Or crush planes into 100 story buildings and etc..
So I think the situation is mighty different. As I always said, radical people invoke radical measuers.

As you can guess apology accepted. I don't like fighting on the web, it's a waste of time and dignity, cursing each other from thousands of miles away ain't my idea of something useful...
Since you wrote you're a friend of Israel I hope you do know I'm from there cause it sounded like you thought I was from America at first...
I didn't understand which country you're from? South Africa?
Anyway, the whole point is that many Americans today stick to militant approach because they feel they are being attacked, and I can't blame them! And as an Israeli, ten times more I understand it...

I read your comments on avinavy profile. When you think about the real history of the spread of the English langauge it was both Britain and the US. The British built the largest overseas empire and held it for centuries. The US also has military bases and is a economic powerhouse. Anyone who is in big business or anything international must know english as a result. Look at the Americanization of everything. So naturally english is going to be a part of everyday life in many a country.

I am Italian-Italian.
I'm personally not the biggest fan of Italian-Americans, I tend to think they degrade Italy and are an embarrassment instead of an asset. I can't stand being around them, they're so obviously fake.
South Africa has always been interesting to me - not the least because, well, - the rather large white population in the country.

Someone like him is what really terrifies me, because you can smell the animosity he has in his heart. He has so many issues he needs to reconcile with. - Now imagine Barack Obama president of the USA and indoctrinating the black population with such 'passion.' It'd be disastrous.

He has some kind of self-righteous xenophobia towards whites since he's black. One time we were discussing government efficiency and he comes out, tear-eyed, attacking me saying "why are blacks so disproportionately jailed?" "Don't tell me you're going to say racism!" I responded. Of course, he does the emotional appeal, sobbing heavily, almost crying, saying "Then what? What is it? Is it because we're just predisposed genetically to do so?" The whole racial issue wasn't even part of the discussion, but before I could even respond to that, our teacher intelligently ended the discussion, it was really deteriorating.

I understand your anger.
I remember that a student in my class once presented a project on Apartheid in my World History Class, contending that his uncle was a white South African in apartheid (he himself was obviously a mulatto black-white though I initially assumed Hispanic) - yet, I was struck when I called it "slavery." Now apartheid wasn't all nice and rosy, but to call it slavery is certainly a grossly incorrect exaggeration. He wasn't corrected by my teacher (whom I respect immensely).
