Barry Schwartz: The real crisis? We stopped being wise
June 15, 2009, 09:45 AM
http://www.ted.com Barry Schwartz makes a passionate call for practical wisdom as an antidote to a society gone mad with bureaucracy. He argues powerfully that rules often fail us, incentives often backfire, and practical, everyday wisdom will help rebuild our world.

Bill Hicks: What is the point to Life
December 11, 2008, 11:37 AM
This is totally profound but TRUE, heard it many years ago, but the full implications only hit me the other day. Sheer Genius, and sadly missed. Bill doesn't go down well with a lot of Christian Folk(Right Wing) but for me he epitomises the whole Christian view on life, comm...

Hello there. Thank you for your comments. No worries, I understand about life (ups and downs). :-) Things are ok with me. Yeah.....I hope that all is with my former- significant other as well. I only wish the best for him. Anyway, hang in there.....and all will work out for the best. Things happen for a reason....in life...... Take care. :-)

Well, I really don't think there's a certain interpretation to the piece, I think that Thomas Newman wanted to create a piece that EVERYONE can identify with (he succeded of course), no matter what age, what nationality or what colour of skin; in my opinion he created a musical monster, it's so simple if you notice but goodness it's gorgeous, it seems to stretch on forever, but sadly, it comes to an end; like a reminder that even the most beautiful things must come to an end. My respects to Mr. Newman for thinking up that piece :).
cheers
