Penn Dhamaka is the University of Pennsylvania's first and only all-male dance troupe. Our founder, Milan Vora, brought together a team of nine students sharing a passion for dance in the Fall of 2001. Penn Dhamaka combines Western and South Asian dance styles, aspiring to present a fresh, unique, and innovative fusion of these cultures. Penn Dhamaka has expanded rapidly in the past decade, culminating in its successes at competitions and showcases at universities along the East Coast and becoming a sensation both on and off campus. Penn Dhamaka's main event is an annual two-hour long production held every February displaying a multitude of dance styles from Hip-Hop and Step to Garba, Raas, Filmi, and Bhangra. With the tremendous success of these shows and performances, Penn Dhamaka hopes to reach new and diverse audiences while still maintaining its roots in the University of Pennsylvania and larger Philadelphia community.
