Concerned above all with exploring new ways of connecting people with the great heritage of the Western musical tradition, Pemi Paull emphasizes style and expression, mindfulness practice, constant attention to the gesture and the flow of his performances, creative use of sound (beauty of tone being but one of it's many elements). Always brimming with life, joy, and commitment to the spirit of the music as well as the times, Pemi brings magnetism, versatility, and sense of freedom to the 21st century stage.
Pemi plays on a baroque viola made for him in 2002 by Miki Inokuchi, as well as a viola built in 2007 by David Prentice, generously loaned to him by the Banff Centre.
