Vic Farrell COVER "Pinned To The Sky (tonight)" by BUCK & DEANNE Live at St. Albans Folk Festival paulbuckb... - 148 views - 2 months ago
Vic Farrell is a singer/songwriter who digs the "anti-folk" genre. Vic lives in Melbourne these days, but not so long ago she was a resident of Sydney. The 1st time Buck heard Vic perform this song was at one of Dennis Aubrey's regular songwriter's nights and he was immediately taken by the song and its country swing sensibility. He told Vic that it was one of the best songs she'd ever written and he and Deanne added to their repertoire immediately. Buck & Deanne's version leans more towards Rudi Valley and the ukelele craze of the 1920s jazz era. They perform it here LIVE at St. Albans Folk Festival 2009.

Guns N Roses COVER - Patience - BUCK & DEANNE Live St. Albans Festival paulbuckb... - 143 views - 2 months ago
Buck & Deanne performing LIVE at St. Albans Folk Festival New South Wales: a cover of the 1989 hit by Guns & Roses "Patience." This song was written by the rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin who left the band in 1991. Someone said Izzy was in the audience the day Buck & Deanne performed this classic hit, but they were mistaken. It was Slash.

My Man Blues - Lonnie Johnson style - BUCK & DEANNE paulbuckb... - 90 views - 2 months ago
Ol'timey Country Blues Duo, Buck & Deanne, performing at St. Albans Folk Festival New South Wales. As Buck explains, the lyric is one of his own while the guitar style is based on a piece by legendary rural bluesman Lonnie Johnson, "The Penitentiary Blues."

The Nihilistic Cowboy (on the range) by Buck & Deanne paulbuckb... - 291 views - 3 months ago
Filmed in and around Tamworth N.S.W during the 2009 Country Music Festival, this is the 5th film clip from dynamic duo Buck & Deanne, an inspired little ditty originally titled "Buck's 99th Cowboy Blues," dropped in favour of "The Cowboy Song" (till Buck realised Thin Lizzy had beaten him to it). The tag line: "I Just Don't See Why I Should Even Care" seemed just a teensy weensy bit t-o-o-o long. So the decision was made: Let the public decide. A competition to name the song went online in February 2009. As of March 25 2009, including both Buck's vote & Deanne's, the total number of entrants had doubled to two. Proving once again a prophet has no honour, Buck & Deanne strummed their lonesome tune and headed out to the range. They were picked up by a rescue crew 36 hours later and sternly chastised for not adequately preparing for such a trip.

We dont care about tents, canteens and rations, Buck told the Care Flight Helicopter pilot.

The pilot shook his head. Bloody cowboy, he said. A touch nihilistic, arent you?

Thats when it hit Buck; the steel super structure of the helicopter as Buck sat bolt upright on the gurney. When he came to an hour later, the title was stuck fast inside his brain (held in place by seven stitches and 3 metres of gauze: The Nihilistic Cowboy (on the range) and thus so it is, and thus so shall it always be.

Deanne smiled: This song is also available as audio on Buck & Deanne's Myspace page thank you.

Keith Richards once said, "Any band can be the greatest rock N roll band in the world, depending on the night." Paul Buckberry once said, "Any person can be the luckiest person on earth, depending on what day it is."

Which is really another way of saying "Mr X Dead" to a whole bunch of people who never knew Mr X was alive.

Buck & Deanne are a folk/blues duo featuring fine vocals, close harmonies and nifty guitar. The pair have worked around the visual industry for decades. In Anaheim they scalped tickets to Disneyland, collected the garbage in Silicon Valley and operated the ferris wheel during the Oscars.
About Me: The story of Buck and Deanne began in the church at Majors Creek Festival 2006 when Buck was first impressed by Deanne's warm alto tones. Their undeniable chemistry ensured that a friendship quickly blossomed into a romatic musical collaboration that has delighted and uplifted audiences from Perth to Sydney. Together they collaborate on Buck's original material as well as placing their own special arrangements on traditional blues, pop and folk classics. Be inspired by this duet featuring fine vocals, close harmonies and nifty guitar.
