Not on a mission of any sort nor am i suffering from liberal guilt.
These videos have served as a conduit by which I have had the chance to chat with so many people from all over the world. Now I only feel bad cause I get so many emails and most go unanswered! (sorry if you emailed to get the great void in response) I have had the chance the converse with more than one really cool human being out there via Youtube. Without these videos, I would have never had that opportunity. To the good people out there: stay cool!

I am now on 'ITunes' somewhere! Search - PatrickJMT!
Download some of my random videos for FREE there!
****************************** ***********************
DOWNLOADS VIA YOUTUBE ARE NOW AVAILABLE FOR A LOW LOW PRICE : )

Underneath my videos, there is now an optional download feature so that you can take my videos with you 'on the go'!

and yes, virginia, i am well aware you can download them for free, but some people have ethics : )

i am the santa claus of mathematics - spreading math cheer around the world.
About Me:

MA in Mathematics; did one year of PhD work before I realized I was either not smart enough, not passionate enough, or both, and left.

i have taught for a few years at a top 20 university (thanks vanderbilt for the experience - it was invaluable) as well for a couple of years at a community college along with a school somewhere in between. likewise, i have been tutoring/explaining math to someone regularly for over half my life. most of my videos tend to give the 'long explanation' vs the 'short and sweet' explanation in most cases (some people would say i go too fast lots of the time though, i am sure). i try to address the common questions or misconceptions that i have encountered over the years. i do not claim to be a mathematician (i am not a mathematician - i defer to my kick ass wife on that one - furocka!!) a teacher, a professor, or anything of the sort. i am just some random guy who studied math, taught for a bit, and makes some random videos about it. i am not the guru, and you should feel free to question everything single thing that i say.

****************************** ***********************
about my videos:

no frills, no gimmicks, no pretty graphics, no BS - i try to make clear, concise and useful math videos.
i am not here to entertain you - plenty of that stuff on youtube already!!

****************************** ******************
i did not post my first math video until March 13th, 2008 - THANKS for the tremendous positive response since i started! this is why i keep making the videos!!

LASTLY: Please do not contact me via ANYTHING you find on my website. I only mention my website as I think the videos are slightly more organized than on YouTube. I am a very busy guy, with a job just like everyone else. : )
I make videos, that is all. : ) No homework hotline or test grader or answer checker!!

PATRICK!!!! I haven't been here in a while....sooo busy with school. As one of your "fans" I feel a little obligated to keep in touch and tell you how I'm doing. I did get my "A" in Calculus III thank you very much. AND NOW I'm looking at a great grade in Elementary Differential Equations.

I don't CARE what you say, you ARE a guru!!!

I need to take a basic skills test this Saturday for teacher certification. I have not studied math in 25 years and since I am going to be an English teacher you can imagine my math skills are a little rusty :) Your video on dividing decimals was *exactly* what I needed to dust the cobwebs off my brain and help me understand. ¡Muchisimas Gracias!
