	Chesnut-fronted Macaw at clay lick in Manu Peru These two species do overlap in the wild in northern Bolivia, but otherwise the severa is found on the western and northwestern side of South America and nobilis east and south of there, especially in Brazil. (1 week ago)
	Hyacinth Macaws feeding in Brazil Right, it sort of looks like the bird is not wanting to give up the second nut - like it's hoarding a bit - preventing another bird from getting that prize nut or something ... in fact when it finished the balanced nut, it only gave the second one a brief bite and promptly dropped it in search of something better ... funny birds these are! 	Military Macaws flying in the Copper Canyon, Mexico Yes, militaries are there at the north end of the Copper Canyon - for now, this is the most northerly site where Ara militaris is known to occur and breed. It's a very remote area, so presumably there are a few other sites a bit further north. (2 weeks ago)
	Blue-throated Macaw, Bolivia Actually, this was shot from pretty far away with a long telephoto (2800mm equivalent on a 35mm camera), but you're right about the parrot checking things out. There were two active parrot nests between the blind and the Blue-throat nest, so any activity at those was sure to catch their attention. And yes, they are amazing birds, I quite agree! Most of us never get to see what they look like in their natural habitat where they are FREE to FLY and SOAR and make all the noise they want...wish we could have left them there instead of confining them to our cages... To all who "want" a Parrot: ADOPT ONE FROM YOUR LOCAL PARROT RESCUE (please don't buy one from a breeder)! Greetings from Chicago, WildlifeGuardian
