An infectious film about microbes, money and medicine.

One of the most controversial illnesses in the history of medicine, Lyme disease may be the fastest growing infectious disease in the United States. Yet each year thousands are misdiagnosed - many of them told that their symptoms are "all in their head." This upcoming documentary investigates the shocking human, medical, and political dimensions of Lyme disease, an emerging epidemic destroying countless numbers of lives. A case study of the dangers of the confluence of money and medicine, the film brings into focus a haunting picture of our healthcare system and its inability to cope with a biological terror under our skin.

"The disease is dangerous, but is easily treated. " This is true only for those who catch it early, often because of a visible rash. Without early antibiotic treatment, it can take years to diagnose (IF properly diagnosed) and years to treat it. And then you have to heal the body once symptoms are relieved -- change your lifestyle and diet, take supplements, etc. There are herbal remedies that really help, but my family had to be on a daily antibiotic IV drip for weeks -- 3 times for my daughter. Learn about coinfections (bartonella, babesia) which may need a different antibiotic and can be equally insidious.

Honestly I need to say, I was diagnosed with Lyme disease while quite young, about 9yrs old in 1995.

The doctor was very unfamiliar with the disease, but aided with information my father found on the internet, he diagnosed it and I took antibiotics. The rash lasted about a week and I never had any secondary symptoms.

The disease is dangerous, but is easily treated.

I purchased this film because I myself have Lyme Disease. My husband, mother, and daughter who had previously been struggling to understand my illness were surprised by the reality of its severity.
This film not only gives hope to those who suffer from Lyme, but enlightens those who are uninformed. It also explains the reasons behind the controversy in diagnosing and treating Lyme Disease in a way that's easy to for anyone to understand. I'm so glad that someone finally brought the medical travesty regarding this disease to light.
Definitely one of the best documentaries I've seen!

i'm so grateful that this video exists. i have been told that lyme disease just doesn't exist in florida. yet i have collected infected deer ticks in a plastic bag... i have the virus... lucky enough to have a physician prescribe the meds at the beginning, and i am feeling better... this disease is real... it's sneaky... and it seems that the medical community either doesn't care, or are misinformed.

Thankyou for making this film, unfortunately it did not help my husband from accepting my illness but it made me feel like I could get my life back again and made me feel hopeful for the future of lyme treatment and research.

I am so thankful that Andy has taken the time to research and create such a needed film!! This disease has left hundreds of thousands completely disabled and bedridden only because of not being diagnosed in time! It takes many lives, ruins marriages, and the list goes on!! I really pray that this film will MAKE doctors wake up and learn more about this disease!!! They label a patient with something, anything simply because they don't know what's wrong. IT WAS ONCE SAID, "TO KNOW MEDICINE IS TO KNOW SYPHLIS"---------------NOW "TO KNOW MEDICINE IS TO KNOW LYME"!!!!!!!

It is only due to them not wanting to reasearch and learn more about tic-borne infections that are taking our lives!!!!!! This disease will take my life with-in the next 5 years and leave my children with-out their mom. This didn't have to happen!

The movie has brought much needed awareness, however, why don't you post a list of petitions,a list of political representatives that we can contact. Put the links on your page; this will make it easier for those who barely have the energy to move. Please
