Ontario's medal and recognition programs celebrate the people who make our province a better place to live.
The programs acknowledge outstanding achievement in education, health care, business, science and medicine, community service, the arts, and many other fields. Two programs specifically honour police officers and firefighters for superlative acts of courage and bravery.
Volunteer award programs recognize the contributions of volunteers of all ages from seniors to youth.
The Opportunities Ontario: Provincial Nominee program allows the Ontario government to nominate individuals and their families for permanent resident status in Canada, based on a pre-approved job offer in Ontario. Opportunities Ontario is for: * Employers having trouble finding the skilled workers they need * Foreign workers or international students who would like to live and work permanently in Ontario * Investors who want to bring in key employees on a permanent basis.
Getting a job that uses your skills and education is very important. That is why the Government of Ontario has invested in Bridge Training programs. These programs are for internationally trained individuals who seek employment in regulated and non-regulated professions. They help these skilled professionals get the training they need to find a job in their field.
The Partnership Project is an initiative to strengthen the relationship between the Ontario government and the province's 45,000 not-for-profit organizations.
Canada Day at Queen's Park has been an annual tradition since 1967. Every July 1, Ontario celebrates Canada's birthday with fun and free activities for families. These celebrations take place on the lush green lawns of the Legislative Building at Queen's Park in Toronto. All are welcome!
