These students demonstrate that many young people are thoughtful, informed and engaged in what is happening around them. Parents who engage their children in meaningful dialogue and who stress the importance of education do get good results.

As with other programs we have done, people are asking us to make the entire video available on YouTube. We are looking into that possibility. Again, we appreciate your support.

Several people have sent us email comments about this program. It seems that there is a lack of adequate information about how public school funding works. Many people believe that Charter schools take funding away for public schools. That is not the case. OneWorld encourages parents to become more involved with their children's schools as well as with School Governance Councils. The more parents know and understand the more effectvie advocates they can be for their children. Knowledge IS Power

Oneworld has received many emails and phone calls thanking us for presenting this program. Knowing how much calcium and vitamin D3 to take is one of the most common questions. Find answers on our web site.

One of the benefits of the Parent Leadership Training Institute (PLTI) is to teach parents how to be effective advocates. In this video professor Brooks says: "A wall in front of us might be a reason to climb; it is not an excuse to sit down."

This Part 3 segment of the program forces on Jamaica's 7 national heroes: Paul Bogle, Sir Alexander Bustamante, Marcus Garvey, George William Gordon, Norman Manley, Nanny, and Sam Sharpe. Each played a key role in Jamaica's road to independence from British rule.

OneWorld thanks Enola Aird and all the participants for their important work in this program. We think the issues raised in this forum are important ones to be discussed during Black History Month and everyday. This is particularly true for parents and teachers. The complete 1-hr program is available on DVD from OneWorld, Inc.

OneWorld is grateful to Mrs. Duncan for sharing her personal story, and helping us to stress the importance of regular monthly breast self-exam. Her case also demonstrates the importance of women being diligent in following up with a gynecologist when they are not satisfied with the response they got from their Primary Care Provider (PPC). In short, patients need to be proactive and be their own best advocates. Mrs. Duncan demonstrated that and it might have saved her life.
