No problem. I also sometimes get that kind of negative stuff on Stickam, but I just give it right back to them and it pretty much shuts them up.

Those drunk guys on Stickam last night were douchebags. The next time one of them opens their mouth against you on Stickam, I'm gonna tell them to put my dick in it.

Hey, my friend. I've been thinking about the modern family quite a bit, and I am curious as too how it developed. So I was wondering, do you think you could reccomend any books pertinent to the development and history of the family? I know Engles wrote a book on this subject, have you read it?

Thanks for your response about the Shantideva quote. I can see why Shantideva's quote would be seen as insane and inadvisable, because it could easily justify an abusive relationship. Do you think an intelligent person (who values their intellect highly) could discern how the psychological need to avoid suffering might actually distort the full exercise of their rationality?
Would you be able to interpret the Shantideva quote in that context? Or would you still say it is fundamentally insane? |

shit. well that sucks, my apologies. perhaps my area is in the minority as a decent one. of course, i'm from canada, the climate could be different here. seriously though, i hope that my fellows have driven a wedge between anarchist and feminist communities, that is a pretty serious problem.

okay, sorry, i really didn't mean to attack you but rather to give you the opportunity to clear the air.
an anarchist is necessarily a feminist in theory, because anarchists oppose all forms of oppressive hierarchy, including perhaps it's most pervasive form, patriarchy. of course, many anarchists may not act this way in practice, they live in a patriarchal culture, it's hard to unlearn things we've been taught since childhood of course, the youtube "anarchist" community can be pretty weird. theres a much higher concentration of individualists and "anarcho-capitalists" here than in real life, where individualists are a tiny minority and anarchocaps are virtually non existent. |
