What do you mean we're "soft Catholics"? There are many differences between Catholics and Lutherans.
1. Lutherans give scripture alone the authority to determine doctrine. Catholics also give authority to the pope, the church, and traditions of the church. 2.Lutherans reject the office of the papacy as divine authority, and feel you don't have to submit to the pope's authority to be part of the true visible church. 3.Lutherans believe in only two sacraments, while Catholics believe in seven. 3.Lutherans believe Jesus' true body and blood are present in Holy Communion, however we do not believe in transubstantiation like our Catholic friends. 4.Lutherans do not believe in praying to Mary or the saints. 5.Lutherans don't believe Mary is a "mediator" between God and humans. We are simply Lutherans, not "soft Catholics". |

I really appreciate these videos! I have found them very useful in reviewing all of the things and more which I learned in my confirmation class...which was now 7 years ago! It's always good to have a strong foundation and understanding of our faith. God Bless!

how can you possibly believe in the teaching of purgatory? as it is not mentioned or taught, does it give the church the right to invent a doctirne? to put people under fear of something that doesnt exsist? Jesus came to set us free .. the catholic church through its self given authority challenges Jesus..
purgatory is only one of the many false teachings and inregards to lutheran church they are in actual fact "soft catholics" |

hello, my brother
you commented on something i wrote; re you kidding??? who taught u that garbage? mommy? are u a catholic? (by the way, i'm not lutheran) no, no... i wasn't saying this to you. i was replying to the person above me that said Luther was burning in hell for taking away from the scriptures. there's a place next to each comment that says REPLY so u can reply to what they said then it gets sent to their actual email. im appreciate what you're teaching. in fact i forwarded your teaching on purgatory to a few friends. have u seen the movie called LUTHER with ralph fienes brother in it? it's amazing! hope you get the chance to look at some of my videos of me leading people to the Lord or helping the homeless. I love sharing that with people so they can see how easy it can be. God bless you, sir. David Bruce |

This is an excellent series of videos put on by a very intelligent pastor. I am Roman Catholic but I do agree with nearly all of Pastor Lassman's teachings. Very helpful and I often refer back to them to assist me with my faith. It also taught me some things about Lutherans that I did not know in the past. Catholics and Lutherans have a LOT in common and now I have a better understanding of them all the way around. Hopefully Pastor Lassman puts more educational videos on here as I guarantee I will watch them. Also, Pastor Lassman has assisted me with interpreting certain bible passages that are difficult to understand. I give the Pastor a two thumbs up!!

And also, did you notice that one of the videos of AIC( Jesus Christ part1), is only partly watchable, maybe something's wrong with the video document. I was wondering if you could be so kind to fix the problem.
Thank you and God bless you
