I believe in small government whos main concern is to protect our borders from threats NOT to tell Bob and Jake they can't get hitched, that Susan can't cram her face with as many trans-fatty french fries as she wants, if Eric wants to light up in a bar (what you're drinking is doing a bit of damage too -hint hint-), that a person can't bury beloved pets on their property, or GOD FORBID actually have a say in what happens to their property. As long as it's not causing actual harm to another and of course being realistic on the current/future ramifications of something then why should the government tell the people what they think they should be doing? The people in the government are there to enact the will of the people and for many issues it should be decided by the states and not the federal government.

That being said, I am also pro-life (down the line). I do not believe in abortion unless there is a good chance the mother is going to die, I also don't believe in the death penalty (It's like shooting fish in a barrel, Jim!), not exactly fond of war unless needed as a last resort (spreading the government's version of democracy isn't exactly a great reason).

"Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish; and you have fed him for a lifetime." - Less government hand-outs to EVERYONE. People need to be taught what hard work can do and be given the chance to do so. With that comes that the government should focus on what's going on at home rather than giving aide to the rest of the world. If people want to help out themselves then GREAT but it should not involve the government.

I also don't support illegal aliens in amnesty or anything else you want to call it. This isn't just about people coming up from the South, I feel that way about anyone entering the country in that manner but do support legal immigration. It's a matter of honesty and the fact the government cannot do their main purpose which is protecting the borders. I will say that with the majority of illegal aliens coming from South of the border that if they want change then they should pull together and try to change the foundation of their OWN country rather than try to shake up the foundation of ours. I wouldn't allow a stranger to just barge into my house without being invited first.

If all else fails then vote Libertarian.
