Meluvvideos, I think you are missing the point here... these people, and i'm not talking about all of the 18 contestants, are cheating to get to the Olympics, not to Las Vegas or Wall Street! I wouldn't accept that behavior not even if they were athletes that trained to death all their lives in any particular discipline... so why should I accept this cheating behavior from these 5 or 6 cheaters? And as somebody mentioned here before, the best videos are not the ones that are leading the "race". I don't have anything against Lenovo but they happen to be the organizers who should have ended this contest as soon as they realized that the system was improper to guarantee fair conditions to every one of the participants.

In the end this is about three people running down a road in China carrying a big butane lighter. Lighten up. Sadmexican? Have fun with your Mac. If your fingers are bored I have a nice electrical outlet you can stick them into. Fraud? Oh my, hanging chads. Call in the Federal Election Commission. It's an INTERNET vote people -- this isn't a vote to replace the Prime Minister of Bendovia.
Sheesh. Good videos. Good cause. Now go back to watching some cyst popping videos and STFU |

We all receive many invitations everday to make a difference in people's lives. These 18 finalist obviously are the doers who are striving to make a difference in their own personal way. I find the comments left here (ok I won't name names - CLattimer, Hedwigfanman) have been rude. I get the feeling that there is other motivations behind some of these comments and would love to understand why everyone has so much hate. (I'm betting you work for other computer companies or software programs and want to use the flaws in this competition for your own personal gain. Lenovo must be your biggest competitor.) Congrats to each of the contestants for taking the steps to make a change, whether it's to feed the starving or pass on a smile!

Wow! I just read about this contest today in the Daily Trojan. Sounds like I missed all the fun! I'm voting for Lisa, Erin and Carissa. They seem to have the most energy and on first impression seem to be the most likable.

The first 5 or 6 contestants have been cheating all along! Their votes have been adjusted more than once. But that's not enough! They MUST get disqualified NOW! That's what Lenovo stated! Cheaters shouldn't go to the Olympics!
Is this a marketing campaign in favor or against Lenovo? It's all messed up! I love my MAC! |

This contest seems to bring out the worst behaviors in people from all over the globe! It's as if we unleashed rabid animals to feast and cheat their way to the end..... I witnessed folks (ok I won't name names - Lisa, Rajib, Mateus, Erin) vote for themselves thousands of times over....
Why would Lenovo condone such voting? Are they also endorsing 'doping' of Olympic Athlete's to win, or selling us Think-Pads with inferior parts just to make the sale? In the end, the synopsis is Lenovo's website was unprepared for cheating with the seemingly immortal theme of 'Man's inhumanity to Man' ... Makes me want to buy a MAC.... Anything but a refurbished IBM product.... Does anyone remember Lotus......... |

Finally Lenovo woke up...! From the Lenovo site:
"Notice to Voters: We apologize for the technical difficulties experienced recently on the voting website. As a result of these technical difficulties, the voting period has been extended to October 31, 2007, 11:59 p.m. EDST. The voting process is designed to allow a single vote for up to three contestants per computer every 24 hours. Computer-driven, "spam" voting is inconsistent with this process and with the spirit of the contest. The Sponsor therefore reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify votes if it is determined that a large block of votes has been cast from a single source within a short period of time or if it determines that votes are cast in any other manner that circumvents the voting process or the rules of the contest." Lenovo should have sent this warning the very first day and stick to it! |
