This collective filmmaking project examines relationships between grandparents and teenage grandchildren in families that recently immigrated to the US: it explores how immigration and assimilation experiences influence individual, family and community identity.
This intimately photographed film offers a peak into the lives of a culturally diverse group of young American Jews. Four Short Films looks beneath the surface of ordinary interactions to explore what draws us toward and pushes us away from the people we love.
"Four Short Films about Love," "As Old as Our Eyes," and "Not Another Jewish Movie" are part of the New Jewish Filmmaking Project, a program of the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival.
Directed by: Alex Baum, David Cohen, Hannah Lesser, Leah Whitman-Salkin, Maissa Chouraki, Max Andrews, Max Staley, Rachel Barnett, Sophia Teper, Tamara Rosenfeld. Produced by Sam Ball.
