Erfie and Chloe actually were 13 years old on July 1 2009.
I got them when they were 4 years old from Westie Rescue, in Denver, and they are rescue dogs.
Erfie and Chloe are twin West Highland White Terriers. He is VERY big for a Westie, incidentally.
Their personalities are quite different- but both are extremely affectionate with other dogs and humans.
LIke myself, they've been vegetarians most of their lives. They eat better than I do (Neil) and eat most all fruits and vegetables, and have been fed EVOLUTION (Vegan) Pet Food for as long as I can remember- and it's the best "dog food" you can buy IMHO. ( http://www.petfoo... )
In their senior years, mom has been making them some free range organic chicken every week, and I finally stopped fighting with her about it and I gave in. However, their diet is still primarily vegetarian, and I cook them breakfast and dinner, with a huge variety of things to eat, mixing in a little Evolution Vegan (or Blue brand Organic Chicken variety) dog food.
They are extremely healthy, and we walk 1-2 miles a day religiously-
But, attention, care and love is mostly what I give them-
They are the BEST FRIENDS I will ever have in my life, and I consider myself one lucky human to have such advanced
intelligences in my family.
