The New England Regional Student Program (RSP), established in 1957 by the New England Board of Higher Education (NEBHE), provides a significant tuition break to New England residents when they pursue approved majors at out-of-state public colleges and universities in the region.
Over the past 50 years the RSP has saved New England residents an estimated $1 billion on more than 200,000 annual tuition bills. The RSP has also helped the individual New England states avoid billions of dollars in capital and operating expenditures for academic programs already offered in other New England states.
