More than 100 experts in education and technology shared ideas and experience at a forum Feb. 21 hosted by Red Hat, a leader in open-source technology headquartered in Raleigh. Former Gov. Jim Hunt and NC education leaders joined Michele Cahill, a national education reform leader with the Carnegie Corporation, for a conference focusing on furthering North Carolina's efforts to advance secondary school innovation linked to high-wage, high skilled jobs in the new economy. Meeting held on Jan. 11, 2011 with co-hosts Carnegie Corporation of New York, the James B. Hunt. Jr. Institute for Educational Leadership and Policy, the Opportunity Equation, the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation and the North Carolina New Schools Project.
