Salam baradar aziz, shuma chetor asti ?. my farsi learning is going very slowly.. its very difficult to find resources here..but, inshallah, i have patience, and hopefully i will slowly learn it. I wanted to ask you a question?. What's your opinion about Shia Muslims?.

regarding brooming at night, yes its related to Jinns, but cutting nails at night is related to reducing eye-sight (not direct blind). subhanallah..Its amazing to see you guys really follow these!. Although, I consider myself 100% Bengali, but, for generations and generations these traditions have been strongly passed on to on my family, and we still follow these!

Salaam brother, yes I can recite Quran, alhamdulillah.

Its very interesting about those traditions, because these are not bengali tradition. As far as I have seen these are not followed by other bengali familes. So, its true that you guys also follow these. Yes, we dont broom at night either. My grandparents used to tell me not to cut nails / hairs at night because, you will loose your eye-sight. Is that the same reason for you?. Also, do you light candles on night?. My mother does it sometimes (though we have electricity).. but my grandparents used to do it very often. its a tradition passed by generations.

Salaam.. Yes, my language is Bengali, I dont speak Arabic, although I can recite the Quran. I know conversational Hindu / Urdu, which is helping me to get used to Farsi, Urdu & Farsi has many words in common, but, the sentence structure of Farsi is very very different. I am trying to learn it.. i think it will take some time.

I wanted to ask you few questions regarding some of the practices/traditions followed in my family.. i recently came to know that these are also followed by afghans, but i am not sure.... for example.. we don't eat Fish & Meat together, either Fish OR meat, but not both. We dont eat meat and milk together, especially if we eat Beef (Cow), we dont drink milk after that. We dont cut nails & Hairs at night, there are many other such things.. do any of these sound familiar?
