Mana Iwabuchi is an amazing player. I hope she grows a few inches, but being short hasn't hurt Aya Miyama.

I just saw them lose to Germany. They played beautifully for most of the game, and were unlucky not to be 1 or even 2 goals ahead at half-time. In the second half they continued the same mid-field control, but of course the German defence is very good.

And then cruelly the Germans scored on one of the few chances they ever got, and it looked like a big push on Kinga to my eyes, and the goal should not have been allowed. Eventually they pushed forward, and left gaps behind, and through exhaustion perhaps, Germany got another.

It is very cruel, and very sad for them, to leave China without a medal. They were certainly the most improved team, and by far the most entertaining team to watch. I will miss their international games now, it is a pity they will not get another chance at a big tournament for a long time.
