The music of Jeremy P Martin
About Me:

Born in the deepest south, Invercargill NZ and raised on the kiwi greats, you would be on the right track if you imagined JPM and the Locals walking a knife edge between the outright unforgettable and the musically adventurous. Based in Melbourne now since 2000 JPM has a glowing list of credits not the least of which include an International Conference Songwriting Commission, Brunswick, High Vibes and Kew Festival appearances plus all the countless pubs. Emerging like Godzilla from the studio after 4 years working as a producer Jeremy returns with a new band, a new album and a burning desire to at least destroy Tokyo.

Level Up(2008) is totally disarming yet its one of the weirdest mixtures of tracks youll hear all year, kind of like having a cup of T with a Grandma who has a few years somewhere in her past that are completely unaccounted for, but it all came together for the launch at the Northcote Town Hall and now were taking that show on the road.

The Locals, Scott Symes - drums, Roger Young keyboard and James Stanford bass, round out this 4 piece experience. Loud when theres girls to impress, drinking up the riffs J furnishes them with, right on the money while they testify.

Every song I've ever loved that has left me aching to hear it again on the radio. Every sound I've ever heard that has inspired my imagination. Every creative person I've ever met whose passion burns as an inspiration.

The music of Splitz Enz, Talking Heads, Paul Simon, Bailter Space, The Clean, Mahler, Shostakovich, Paul Ubana Jones, Mahalia Jackson, Louis Armstrong, Queen, Eurythmics, Bony M, Bob Marley, Elton John and John Mellencamp all blended up in the blender, then poured out into planet and star shaped moulds, baked slowly until golden brown and served, still warm from the oven with an espresso.
