Well, you may be surprised by Austin, Texas. The people are very friendly, the city is very green, very progressive, with modern companies, and is one of the largest live music cities in the world. Yes, we have our crazies, but who doesn't?

One of my sisters lived in Amsterdam for 9 years. Her husband, who is American, played in a Dutch jazz band, the William Brueker Collective. In response to your comments. Yes, we define ourselves by our wars, but also by many other things. But please don't say we don't know war. We have been sending our family to war for almost 100 years now. My cousin has served two times in Iraq, and once in Afganistan, and we have had to worry about his safety. My father and his brotherrs served in two wars. Also, I lived in NYC during the WTC attack, and had a friend killed. Take care.
