On October 26, 2007, I was privileged to play and sing at the wedding of my cousin and his beautiful fiancée on the island of Kauai. The whole week was one of the most fun experiences of my life, and I'll never forget it. Thanks again for having me, Geno and Jess!

I wanted to commemorate their first anniversary (slightly late!) by putting the two songs I sang up on Youtube. This one is a favorite of mine, written by Rick Kemp (but Cathie Ryan devotees will doubtless notice it's her version I learned it from!). It expresses a beautiful sentiment, and was perfect for Geno and Jessica's wedding, as they've clearly found the "one who waits for me".

I wanted to commemorate their first anniversary (slightly late!) by putting the two songs I sang up on Youtube. This one is a gorgeous love song by the Dixie Chicks (and yes, I left a verse out of the middle). If there's a more perfect song for a wedding, I don't know what it is. I only wish I could've sung it as Jessica walked down the aisle; unfortunately, sandy beach + large harp = VERY BAD IDEA. :D

(The take is far from perfect, but was pretty spontaneously cool and by far the best one I did, so I'm going with it.)

This tune was a request from my cuz D.J. ;) Of course, it's only taken me about seven months to actually record it *rolling eyes*. Bad Molly.

Hope you enjoy! It's on the short side (like me, tee hee). I was so thrilled to get through a take without crashing and burning on the lever flip that I decided to lock it down while I was ahead!

Full Story: http://www.davecarrollmusic.co m/story/united-breaks-guitars - In the spring of 2008, Sons of Maxwell were traveling to Nebraska for a one-week tour and my Taylor guitar was witnessed being thrown by United Airlines baggage handlers in Chicago. I discovered later that the $3500 guitar was severely damaged. They didnt deny the experience occurred but for nine months the various people I communicated with put the responsibility for dealing with the damage on everyone other than themselves and finally said they would do nothing to compensate me for my loss. So I promised the last person to finally say no to compensation (Ms. Irlweg) that I would write and produce three songs about my experience with United Airlines and make videos for each to be viewed online by anyone in the world. United: Song 1 is the first of those songs. United: Song 2 has been written and video production is underway. United: Song 3 is coming. I promise. Follow me at http://twitter.com/DaveCarroll . It's going well! :D I am learning things by ear now, so it's all a rather slow process, but progress is being made... I think! :P Oh, and I've bought a tin whistle! XD I can't seem to get enough of Irish music. I keep wondering if I have a seasonal disorder that makes me want to try to instruments in the winter. haha! Okay, I will talk to you later! Have a grand new year! Maybe post a new video... *whistles innocently* of The Lady of Shalott? :D
hugs!
