Mention the name Hujan and those indie rock head in Malaysia should know at least one song of theirs (Pagi yang Gelap). Notoriously popular among the Malay youth and is well known for bringing in large crowds to wherever they perform, Hujan has achieved the rock and roll band status effortlessly.
Those who have been to their shows should know that these boys can play 8 songs non-stop and clear the venue once they are done. But little do most of us know that this band has connections to the local Hip Hop scene. Noh, front man for the band hails from the land of the Hornbill and was actually in a Rap group called MIX.
Now he has parted ways with MIX which is now managed by Cat Farish of Fabulous Cats. I dont think he has any regrets taking the rock and roll route. Hujan, a 4 man band that sounds akin to the Strokes carries a large banner and shouts who says a Malaysian rock band cant sound as good as an Indonesian rock band. I have been to a few of their shows and my judgment is that these boys has a quality that even their seniors cant match.

Now for your weekend listening pleasure let me bring you 2 songs. One is by MIX whose Hip Hop is infused with ethnical Borneo overtones and Hujan ala Strokes but holds their crowd by a noose with their simplistic lyrics and rustic raw production.

Dulu, waktu mak bapak hantar gi skolah suruh belajar, xnak belajar. pastu jadi bodoh.. dah bodoh, sombong lak tu. dah la sombong, pura2 pandai plak. Maka, timbul lah istilah musik Indie, dsb. Ade ke musik Indie? faham ke apa maksud Indie? atau stakat tahu beli baju Indie Dulu, Kini Dan Selamanya? Kalau bahasa zaman aku sek menengah, kami panggil geng2 ni POYO, xder knowledge tapi nak cakap pasal musik, dll.
Itu lah attitude dan mentaliti kebanyakan orang Melayu. Dan sebab itu lah Melayu tak maju spt bangsa lain kerana bangsa Melayu penuh dgn hasad dengki sesama sendiri.
Grey Sky Morning dah explain tentang status Hujan sebagai artis Malaysia. Tapi, masih ramai manusia yang tak faham bahasa dan cuba fitnah Hujan, dsb. So, meh aku explain secara LOGIK untuk manusia2 yang anggap TAHU musik dan kononya banyak knowledge.
Hujan masih lagi 100% under NOH PHROFILE - ciptaan lagu, lirik. FMC hanya terlibat sebagai pengedar.

Seingat aku lah, NOH PHROFILE tak pernah terlibat atau ada langsung pengalaman sbagai pengedar. NOH PHROFILE tu Noh Hujan lah bongok ngoi oiii. Kalau aku jadi Noh pun, aku pun malas. He he he.. Lagipun, apa salahnya? Ag Coco, guitarist Hujan pun dari FMC.
Korang ada sakit apa2 ker?
Secara logiknya, Hujan adalah band Indie coz semua duit utnuk hasilkan EP, Tshirt, Sticker Kereta ( Noh je ada ), dan terbaru album ADALAH DUIT SENDIRI, bukan pakai duit FMC atau 50:50 dgn Hujan.
Showcase pertama Hujan nanti, official launching album nanti pun duit Hujan sendiri. Maybe ada share skit dgn FMC coz FMC terlibat sbagai pengedar kan.
Hujan di dalam akhbar, majalah, jemputan ke radio, tv, dsb adalah hak media. Hujan anggap itu sebagai penghargaan media dan Hujan betul2 berterima kasih atas sokongan media terhadap band INDIE.
So, kalau tak tahu, tak faham, TANYA. Jangan jadi golongan BODOH SOMBONG BERLAGAK PANDAI k. Geli aku tengok.
