Mohamed Najem (clarinet, nay): Born in 1984 in Jerusalem, Mohamed Najem was drawn to music from an early age. He first played the recorder and saxophone, before settling on his instruments of choice the clarinet in 1997 and the nay in 2004. He studied both instruments at the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music in Bethlehem. He has played both Western and Arabic style music with numerous groups including: the National Conservatory Ensemble (Makamat) 2003, and the Palestinian Youth Orches__tra Sabreen (bedayat)2004 as he gave some school concerts as well in 2005 he joined turab as it is his main band now they recorded their first cd hada lail, www.turab.ps dalona group 2006 (a Palestinian band contains different musicians from Palestine france and some Arabic regions) he joined in recording the two cds for the group as clarinet and nay player 2007. From Bethlehem to bangor, a cd that he joined with the Walsh singer and musician Gywlim Morus when he came to Palestine with another Palestinian musician recorded and composed two songs with him. 2007 he went to wales for recording 4 live concerts continuing the project from Bethlehem to bangor for the new project which called music with out boarders. he gave master classes in Arabic music in conservatory of summer ………….. , 2006 mattab jazz band Ramalah. Another activities in 2005 he played his first rule as an actor in a tv serious in Bethlehem, he worked as a radio producer first in radio iziz 2004 in Bethlehem for one year, and than he joined radio Bethlehem 2000 as a music program producer. 2006 he worked as a music teacher in dar al kalema Lutheran school Bethlehem. He received first place prize for nay in the oriental section Marcel Khalifeh national competition in 2006 in Jerusalem.
