The 25th world student games opened on Wednesday in Serbia, with more than 8,500 athletes from 145 countries taking part in the event.
During the 12-day long event, student athletes will compete in fifteen sports in arenas and stadiums in the capital Belgrade and other Serbian towns.

After a spectacular event at the Sava Centar in Belgrade, Serbia has chosen it's representative for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow. Marko Kon & Milan Nikolić will represent Serbia with the song Cipela (Shoe).

The Eurovision Song Contest 2009 will be the 54th Eurovision Song Contest, scheduled to take place between 12 and 16 May 2009 at the Olympic Indoor Arena in Moscow, Russia. Changes in the voting procedure will occur with the re-introduction of a national jury alongside televoting while the format of the semi-finals will remain the same. Forty-three countries have confirmed their participation in the contest. Slovakia has announced it will return to the contest, while San Marino has withdrawn due to financial issues. Latvia and Georgia originally announced their intention to withdraw, but it was later stated by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) that both countries would indeed participate.
