Mir (meer) is one of the most innovative and melodic groups to come out of Canada. Mir's unique, challenging, easily identifiable sound makes them clearly stand out. Now, in Fall 2005, MIR releases The Acoustic Record in Canada. The Acoustic Record is not in any way a typical acoustic or unplugged recording by Halifax progressive pop group, MIR. Bicycle pumps, keys, Velcro and various other household items are creatively incorporated into the highly musical mix. The recording is a seamless listening experience that is sure to create intrigue upon first listen and discovery upon subsequent listening. This is the third full length CD to be released by MIR in less than 12 months. Summer 2004, MIR released, 7 Directions, which included the radio singles, "So Perfect", "The Pressure" and "A Day In Your Life". Fall 2004, MIR released Invisible Science MMIV. This special re-worked re-release of the original Invisible Science title included new mixes and new tracks as well as the original singles Invisible Science and State of Emergency. The Acoustic Record completes this phase of releases while the band prepares for the next ambitious studio recording, which will begin to gel in the studio during fall/winter 2005/2006.
