Day 2 of testing the blimp. After adding to our altitude controls and a few other adjustments we were ready to finish the blimp project. Surprisingly, our first trial was one of our best with the blimp hovering at the desired input and with blimp pointing in the correct heading.

Besides plotting the data transmitted from the blimp during our optimum runs we needed to plug in values that would create an over- or under-damped system.

Note: The reason the blimp floated around and did not stay still was because of the air flow in the Armory (gym) and because the blimp could not be perfectly balanced.

The conclusion of my Embedded Control class. We had to write software to control the heading and altitude of a blimp.

Our first day allowed us to play around to find our optimum control functions. Unfortunately we could not get some of the controls functions to work properly so we ended up reworking the code and signing up for another day for trials. See my videos for day 2.

Bob Feller's fastball is clocked using army ordinance equipment. The equipment was used to measure artillery shell velocity. His fastball was measured as 98.6 mph.
