MICK BOLTON. MUSICIAN/SINGER/SONGWRITER
.....FINALIST in the 2008 UK SONGWRITING CONTEST with my composition 'ME AND MY OLD PIANO' (see video).....
I joined my first band in 1969 and after playing hundreds of gigs in the north of England I moved to London in 1972. In 1973 I joined MOTT THE HOOPLE playing Hammond organ on two headlining US tours. We played many of the major concert venues and our support acts included Aerosmith, Iggy Pop, Joe Walsh, ZZ Top, The New York Dolls and Blue Oyster Cult. On our UK tour we were supported by Queen.
I joined DEXYS MIDNIGHT RUNNERS on piano in 1984 to record tracks that appeared on the Don't Stand Me Down album and I toured with them in 1985 playing Hammond organ.
Between 1986 and 1991 I played Hammond organ and keyboards with Irish singer/songwriter PAUL BRADY, recording and touring in Europe, the USA, Ireland and the UK. I also worked for a while with Paul McCartney's wife LINDA McCARTNEY, giving her some keyboard tuition and writing and recording with her. I have worked extensively as a solo pianist/singer around Europe, Scandinavia and the UK and these days I play solo gigs performing blues, boogie and my own songs.
I'm gradually adding videos recorded at live gigs and at home. Hope you enjoy them and my YouTube favourites which include some by Mott The Hoople, Dexys Midnight Runners and Paul Brady on which I can be seen and/or heard.

Strange that there have been at least three musicians called Michael Bolton. And the most famous one isn't really Michael Bolton at all. His real name is Michael Bolotin. Mick
