MCC is a comprehensive, full-service community college supported by the taxpayers of Dodge, Douglas, Sarpy and Washington counties that aims to provide quality learning experiences for a diverse community of lifelong learners. MCC offers more than 175 one-year and two-year degrees and awards in business administration; computer and office technologies; culinary arts, hospitality and horticulture; industrial and construction technologies; health and public services; social sciences and services; and visual and electronic technologies, as well as academic transfer programs. MCC is the second-largest institution of higher learning in Nebraska. There are eight MCC locations: Applied Technology Center, Elkhorn Valley Campus, MCC Express, Fort Omaha Campus, Fremont Area Center, Sarpy Center, South Omaha Campus and the Washington County Technology Center. MCC offers online, blended and on-campus courses at convenient times—day, night and weekend courses are available. MCC also offers noncredit courses ranging from a single session to six weeks, where students build technical or work-related skills and engage in personal enrichment opportunities.

MCC offers easy access to higher education with an open enrollment policy. Anyone 16 years or older may register for classes. SAT and ACT scores are not required to enroll at MCC; free assessment testing is available at each location to place students into classes that meet their individual educational needs. With MCC's quarter system, students can begin four times throughout the year—March, June, September and December. MCC has one of the lowest tuition rates in the state, helping to alleviate some of the financial stress that comes along with college: $51/credit hour for resident, $76.50/credit hour for nonresident and international students. MCC also offers half-price tuition to individuals ages 62+ for most classes.

MCC offers three programs for high school students to jumpstart their college education. Students take actual college courses online, at their high school or at an MCC location. They pay half-price of the current tuition rate and may transfer their college credit to any college or university that accepts MCC credit.
